Squash and Pork Stew

This rich and savory crockpot pork stew recipe, with pork loin, butternut squash, baby carrots, red potatoes, bottled gravy, and sage leaves, is packed full of vitamin A. If your family doesn't like squash, just add another cup of baby carrots and... See more more

Highlights: * 1 Tbsp. olive oil * 1-1/2 lbs. boneless pork shoulder roast * 1 onion, chopped * 2 cloves garlic, minced * 1/4 tsp. salt * 1/8 tsp. pepper * 1-1/2 cups 1" cubed butternut squash, peeled * 16 oz. pkg. baby carrots * 8 small red potatoes, unpeeled, quartered * 12 oz. jar homestyle pork...

This was quite possibly the easiest meal I've ever cooked. I couldn't find a jar of pork gravy, so I made my own gravy by taking the juice from the pan after browning the pork and adding a smidge of olive oil, a couple cups of chicken broth, and a teaspoon of cornstarch. After boiling and thickening, I then added the gravy to the crock pot. This stew is absolutely scrumptious, and I'm positive that if you're vegeterian, you could make a similar stew by omitting the pork and replacing the gravy with either a jar of mushroom gravy or making your own gravy with vegetable broth. Next time I'll add some green beans, which I'm positive would make a delicious addition.

Sounds good.

Pressed Cubano with Bacon

Garlic oil gives these sandwiches a crisp, flavorful crust. Hawaiian rolls provide a slightly sweet contrast to the salty ham, pickles, and mustard. To make this easy supper even quicker to prepare, use precooked bacon. Serve with banana peppers.

I omit the red peppers and add green beans instead. I highly recommend adding a clove of garlic halfway through and using herbs de Provence instead of individual spices. It adds the perfect amount of flavor to the vegetables! Delish! :0)

Camembert Mashed Potatoes

The buttery taste and creamy texture of Camembert cheese glorifies these potatoes. Camembert is similar in flavor and texture to Brie, which makes a fine substitute. The rind is easiest to remove if the cheese is well chilled.

This could be the best breakfast I've ever eaten (besides French toast made from Challah bread at my favorite diner! ;0) I mix 2/3 cup soy milk into the oatmeal and microwave for 1:30. Then I add a sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg, and throw in a handful of fresh blueberries. Talk about a healthy breakfast! Lots of fiber, protein, and antioxidants, and it leaves me feeling full and satisfied until lunchtime. Just read that the only thing I can do better is drink a cup of orange juice along with the oatmeal to make this the healthiest breakfast possible!

My friend Sarah turned me on to Tazo Passion tea. It has a fruity taste and is a raspberry color, very pretty and fresh and invigorating without the caffeine. This is my favorite of the Tazo teas.
