It was a time when the working-class look of icons such as Rosie the Riveter became chic, as women of all social standings joined the war effort, leaving the home and going off to work. Hemlines became shorter, skirts were now A-line, and the clean lines of tailored suiting-like seams and tucks were en vogue. This rendition of a 1940's social dress has all the details we love about vintage! The fabric is a smokey "cadet" grey/blue, with black accents around the set-in capped sleeves, adjustable belt, and adorable butterfly pleated trim at the keyhole cut-out. Perhaps the most glorious part of this dress is the cross-tucked seams below the bodice, creating beautiful darts to complement the bustline!
