Some of the main problems new timbers present builders are twisting, bowing, and shrinkage. Often timbers might look perfect in the construction phase, yet, after months in a heated home or left to the weather/sunlight a new solid timber may become very deformed, marring a job done well. Our faux wood beams will not have excessive twisting, bowing or shrinking when installed correctly. Box beams weigh considerably less than solid barn beam or ceiling beam. They are easier and safer to install. The lightness of box beams will lessen the stress to your structure. You will not have to strengthen your ceiling to have the timber look. You can also hide electrical, pipes, and more inside false barn beams, or old ceiling beams leaving a cleaner finished look. Our solid wood beams, barn beams rough sawn or hand hewn, start at $22 per lineal foot, our rustic box beams start at $55 per lineal foot. See less
