The primary objective of the USB product is to provide a Plug-N-Play experience and to minimize user headaches. A: I am selling the USB-UIRT partly as a desire to provide a usable product to the HTPC enthusiast, and partly as an 'educational' experience in retailing a product on the Web. The cost structure of the USB-UIRT is designed to cover cost of materials and labor and modest support. Since this is not a mass-produced item, this cost model still allows a reasonably-priced 'hobby-style' product. As such, the firmware/plugin/schematic are not currently open-source.
