(07/28/10) This gorgeous item comes to us straight out of St Trop and Portofino respectively, where it seems to be the official must have: The leather bracelet, studded with sterling silver closures. This bracelet is made of soft, aged brown leather, in a nice rich cognac color, but darker around the edges, so it has this 'been there, done that' look already. The closure is Sterling Silver, and has a very simple mechanism to close it! From what we understand there are quite a few variations available, but the guys behind Elf Craft seem to be the leaders when it comes to design and quality. The length can be adjusted by simply shortening the bracelet and fixing it to the closure again, but the two length's fit most men and women we know, so you might not even want to adjust much. Some women even take the men's version because they like it extra loose... The bracelet is worn with the closure towards the inside of the wrist by guys and - obviously – with the silver pointing outside, by the ladies.See less

(07/28/10) In the heavily fortified town of Yemshi-tepe, just five kilometres to the northeast of modern Sheberghan in Afghanistan only half a kilometre from the now-famous necropolis of Tillia-tepe a huge hoard from the Bactrian culture was found. The hoard is a collection of about 20,000 gold ornaments that was found in six graves (five women and one man) with extremely rich jewellery, dated to around the 1st century BC. Altogether several thousand pieces of fine jewellery were recovered, usually made of gold, turquise or lapis-lazuli. The ornaments include coins, necklaces set with gems, belts, medallions and crowns. A new museum in Kabul is being planned where the Bactrian gold will eventually be kept.
