(11/24/08) My photos are showing the metal and filigree workmanship very well but they are not doing justice to the glass jewels. All of the stones are bright and twinkling, no dull or darkened stones at all and much more emerald green than would photograph. The stones are in very good to excellent condition with just a little rubbing on the large center stone of the brush and a tiny bitty nick on the center stone of the mirror, you'll have to look very closely to see this, it's hard to notice. The brassy bronzy casings are in excellent condition. The handles are showing some wear to the coloring, more so on the hand mirror, as it was used more than the brush. The natural bristles of the brush are soundly set into a wood base which is secured in place with little brass brads. The bristles are all intact and relatively clean considering the age of this set, again, I don't see where the brush was used very much. (11/24/08) C. 1957- 1958. A STUNNING full skirted cocktail dress made from crisp and swishy black nylon taffeta. I bought this for me to wear as this style of dress suits me perfectly but it ended up being two sizes too big for me! I am gutted as I love this dress so much. The dress has a high empire bust which is decorated swirly bands and heart shaped patterns made from soustache trim with silver lurex threaded through it along with faux pearls and rhinestones. The body of the dress is mulit-gored to ensure the closest possible fit on the torso yet still allow for a huge skirt. The bodice is partially lined in taffeta and the back fastens with a metal zipper. The dress is so well made yet surprisingly, there are no maker's labels. Only label states the dress size of 44! It is in EXCELLENT condition, the only nit picky faults are some little light grey spots on the taffeta near the hem line here and there on the dress.
