Gap Band - Party Train

The first major hit for the Gap Band was a snazzy juke toon called "Shake." Just prior to the completion of their first album, Charlie Wilson cited the song for his brothers, thinking they might ridicule the lyric. His brothers loved it though, and... See more more

Yay! My pre-order just arrived today! Maybe now I can see what the heck he was doing at the concert, because I don't think anyone saw too much of him there!

E-Petitions - Recognising...

The Honours system is a way to recognise outstanding merit and service to the nation. It's been around for centuries but only since 1993 has the public been able to make nominations themselves. That's where you come in.

Highlights: Petition to: ensure that Steve Harris, founder member and bass guitarist of Iron Maiden be included in the next list of honours.

Comments (1)

Why/when did my relative/neighbour/friend/enemy get an award? Details of awards are published in The London Gazette. You can carry out your own research by checking though the printed editions at your local library or by using the online database at http://www.gazettes-online.co.uk/ Are many awards given to celebrities? As a natural result of their activities, the recipients of honours in some areas (e.g. the arts) are likely to be better known so the press focus on them. However, the actual number is very small. You can check this yourself by looking at the complete list published in The London Gazette and counting how many names you recognise. http://www.honours.gov.uk/nominate.aspx

From the TV ad by Razor & Tie and Sedaka's own appearance plugging this CD on QVC, to the packaging itself, there are no indications that the RCA stuff are re-recordings. But the Rocket songs are the originals.

< this was a scary album cover!

Comments (1)

This was probably my favorite album growing up. The most under-rated AC/DC album ever. My dad bought Back In Black & For Those About to Rock, and then I got this for Christmas when I was ten.I can't imagine who bought it for me, but I'm sure glad they did. :) Watch: Video Read: Reviews

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY THE 2002 RELEASE! BUY THE 1995 REMASTER, the one with the small album cover in the middle with the green background and OZZY written down the right-hand side in big yellow letters. (See Wikipedia to read why)

It's now hard to imagine, but my dad bought this album. I was ten years old. This cover would give me the heebie-jeebies. Seriously, I would try to keep it sandwiched between two other albums while taking the record out so I wouldn't catch a glimpse of it. :)
