Thank goodness Victoria Secret has developed a steampunk Barbie.

Good luck finding a new thing, steampunk kids!

Hey guys, sorry I've been so disengaged lately.  Kaboodle is my stress-reliever, but feeling obligated to keep up with all my K-friends was stressing me out!  I still like reading blogs and looking at styleboards, especially if they're by some of my favorite Kaboodlers.  I was also volunteering a lot for the No on 1 campaign here in Maine, and that ate up a lot of my time.  We lost, which is sad.  : (

This is (one of the things) I love about the internet: every time I think, "wouldn't it be great if there was a website that did [whatever]" IT ALREADY EXISTS.  All your dreams come true on the internet.  So anyway, I have a question for the collective intelligence of the internet.  I want a website that complies updates from all of the websites I like and regularly visit, so I can view them all together as one feed.  Do you guys know about something like that?  Thanks bunches,
Emyko

The wonderful thing about nail polish is that it's a relatively guilt-free indulgence.  Even if you were to really splurge and go crazy, nail polish prices usually top out around $30, but generally can be purchased for under $10 for a really quality product.  Polish is also a really great way to play with color, accessorize an outfit and start a conversation (I always get comments and compliments on my non-traditional nail colors.)

These are my favorite colors for fall.  The first two embody the gray trend that is popular now for nails and everything else.  Cool Reserve is a subdued grey/purple/mauve by MAC and designer Jin Soon Choi.  This color gives a twist to your trendy gray nails.  The other gray is Zoya's Harley Twist, a pearly soft gray that is very feminine.  Rosie Lee by Butter London, a sparkly peach, is the perfect mix of elegance and fun.  I cannot get enough of the color!  It just makes me happy. : )  The green trend is represented by two polishes here: Bloom's Kitty (a brand that the lovely Lavabunny introduced me to) and OPI's Here Today Aragon Tomorrow (don't'cha just love polish names?).  Kitty is similar to the rightfully hyped Chanel Jade, but is more muted, enabling it to better match fall wardrobes and seduce the nail polish meek.  Aragon is a deep, yummy forest green.  It's light enough to still read as green though, unlike many near-blacks.  Next is Bloom's Bianca, a duochrome I could stare into for hours.  Finally I have included the Blogger Collection from Rescue Beauty Lounge.  RBL asked three bloggers (AllLaqueredUp, Scrangie and PolishAddict) to design their dream polish and made them a reality.  They've also included a matte topcoat, so you can experiment with any of your colors in the matte trend.  I can't find the collection as a package, but they can be purchased separately here.

Hope you like them and have fun!

The lovely Mila Jovovich, also featured in my styleboard this week.

Letting you know now, this blog will mostly be about nothing.

I can always tell the theme of the week by the contents of my requests, usually before I find out what it is otherwise.  So I'm guessing bohemian is where it's at this week.  That is right up my alley, and I also have a working knowledge of like 70% of Target's products, so I am excited about this week's entry board. [Edit: why is it making me make a list? >: (  I evidently misunderstood.]

The weekly theme though, in general, it bothers me.  I think they are too limiting, and that most boards look the same.  Not only is it boring to look at, but people are busy making these boards instead of their own creative inventions, which I *am* interested in seeing.  Probably most themes won't be as ...same-y (probably should be a word) as the ones this past month though.

I am MOH at a wedding this weekend, and for the poll participants I bought these shoes.  Firstly, I would like to state what a fabulous shopping experience Zappos consistently provides.  I literally ordered these shoes last night, and they arrived this afternoon.  I did not request rush shipping, they upgraded me for free, for no apparent reason.  This also happened last time I bought with Zappos.  They are pretty awesome.

The shoes are only moderately awesome.  They look more cute in the box than on my feet, but I'm not sure if that's due to weirdness of foot or shoe.  They seem like they will be quite comfortable and appropriate though.  And I think they will be much cuter with jeans.

That's it, goodnight. <3

Thames
Branwen's Feather
I don't know if y'all have heard about The Fairest yet, but it's a website that sells beauty products at super low prices through a limited time sale model.  Right now, all of their Butter London products are 50% off (!!!) so it's a great time to try this brand out.  I just picked up the two polishes pictured: Thames and Branwen's Feather.  The sale ends in 1 day and 11 hours, so you better get crackin'.

Also Nailgal.com is a great resource for checking out exactly what your new polish is going to look like!  Lots of polishes look very different in the bottle and on the nail, so it's nice to get some idea of what it really looks like before your spend money on it.  Just do a search with the name of your color.

If you pick something up, let me know which color you chose!
