The Margarita Ball was fantastic!
I didn't end up getting a full body shot of my outfit, but you can see my hair (sort of?) in those pictures. I had too many margaritas so all of the pictures are pretty awful.
I ended up getting
these shoes because they were 1. cute 2. on sale for $15 and 3. I would wear them more than just once. They didn't really fit with my outfit THAT much... but when everyone's drunk who really cares? I thought that the shoes would be comfortable because they are flat but I ended up with a blister about the size of a quarter by the end of the night. Harsh!
The last picture is the HUGE mound of toys that were donated to Dallas Children's Charity. There were actually more than that, but that's all I could get in the frame. This wasn't just a lot of fun, they were actually doing a good deed. There was also a silent auction that collected a TON of money and a casino where all of the profits went to the charity as well. I ended up winning $900 at the poker tables. It was my first time playing, so I was really excited. I didn't keep the money... which was less exciting, but it all went to a good cause.

EVENT:
Dallas Margarita Ball. Charity event. Invitation only. Very formal. Free margarita fountains.
My friend, Dee, normally volunteers so she can get an invite, she e-mailed the person that manages the volunteers and they squeezed me in. I am really excited, to say the least. Oh, and this sucker is next Saturday.
I have never been to anything formal before. I didn't even go to prom. I have never matched formal items together. I went the cheap route and I picked up this amazing black gown from Salvation Army for $10. Freakin' steal, right?
(Sorry about the fuzzy pictures, my digital camera is out of batteries and I am lazy... so I resorted to bad cellphone pictures. You get the idea though. Floor length and black with lacy details.)
The problems: 1. WHAT SHOES DO I WEAR? Please send suggestions of styles for me to look for. Also keep in mind that I am 5'10 so if you suggest four inch heels I will then be 6'2. I don't want to be a giantess at this event.
2. What should I do with my hair?! Up? Down? Curly? Straight?! I have NO idea!
3. What is some good um... form shaping items? I have gained some weight and I totally have a pooch. Sad :(
Help me, my fashionable Kaboodle friends!

My best friends mom used to work for Merle Norman and ended up giving me a sample of Luxiva Lasting Makeup. I absolutely love it.
I have to admit I have been pretty lucky. I have had relatively clear skin my entire life. So, when I got laid off recently switching to a less expensive (read: drugstore) foundation didn't seem like a big deal to me.
I was so wrong. Cheap foundation mixed with the Texas summer heat and walking around campus all day had given me the worst case of acne I have had in my 22 years of life. My friends all told me that I had finally reached puberty. Thanks, guys.
So with the help of my mother (and her money), some Luxiva acne spot treatment, washing my face continuously and switching back to this lovely foundation my face has finally healed and restored it's formal glory.
This foundation not only will not clog your pores, but it blends effortlessly and it even stays on through sweat in the hottest of Texas summer days. Absolutely amazing. I would recommend this product to anyone!

As you can tell from my new user icon, I have some sweet new hater blockers.
Fred Flare was having another one of their
grab bag sales and I was feeling very random... so I ordered one.
This is what I got in my bag:
- Sweet Shudder Sunglasses (Bringin' back the '80s!)
- A shiny red scarf
- Donut necklace (that already broke)
- Colored pencils
- Purple bow earrings and bracelet
- Happy orange keychain
- Miniature air guitar and pick (I think this is a card?)
- 4 plastic heart bangles that I will never be able to fit on my wrist
- Hamburger, fry and coke erasures
- Pinup peppermint lip balm
- Random plastic cherry
The donut necklace is totally awesome but it broke after one wear. It's definitely fixable though.
I am kind of disappointed because the description said there would be candy in the bag. I didn't get any candy at all! When I ordered I was afraid it was going to be mostly candy... so I got completely the opposite of what I was thinking. I also don't understand the random cherry at all.

With our two-year contract about up and my
old phone starting to break, I went out with my mom and dad to look into renewing our contract and getting new phones. Verizon was going to give my family $150 for a free phone, plus whatever free phones come with that. I really wanted the Blackberry Pearl in pink but the girl at the store said that you had to get a minimum Blackberry plan for e-mail and the internet. I just wanted it because it was cute. Since I am going to school right now and not working much, my dad has been fronting my bills for me and he was very adamant about telling me that he was not going to pay for any internet or extra services besides text messaging anymore. Bummer.
For a basic phone I think it's pretty cool. It's a lot cuter, lighter and has a lot more silly little useless functions than my old phone (except for the whole no internet thing.) It came with the wire to hook it up to the computer and a cute pair of matching headphones, which the old phone did not, so I can also double it as an mp3 player. It holds up to about 2 gigs worth of music and the sound quality is pretty solid.
I do miss being able to access the internet from my phone, though. It was nice to not have to get out of bed to check my e-mail in the mornings. I also miss having a full keyboard, since I am horrible at texting with only the number pad. It takes me like five minutes to send one text message now. Damn kids with their new technologies.
We had an awful time with customer service getting the phones, though. I wrote another review about the establishment on
Yelp (shameless plug).
