Samsung Juke in Teal
With our two-year contract about up and my old phone starting to break, I went out with my mom and dad to look into renewing our contract and getting new phones. Verizon was going to give my family $150 for a free phone, plus whatever free phones come with that. I really wanted the Blackberry Pearl in pink but the girl at the store said that you had to get a minimum Blackberry plan for e-mail and the internet. I just wanted it because it was cute. Since I am going to school right now and not working much, my dad has been fronting my bills for me and he was very adamant about telling me that he was not going to pay for any internet or extra services besides text messaging anymore. Bummer.

For a basic phone I think it's pretty cool. It's a lot cuter, lighter and has a lot more silly little useless functions than my old phone (except for the whole no internet thing.) It came with the wire to hook it up to the computer and a cute pair of matching headphones, which the old phone did not, so I can also double it as an mp3 player. It holds up to about 2 gigs worth of music and the sound quality is pretty solid.

I do miss being able to access the internet from my phone, though. It was nice to not have to get out of bed to check my e-mail in the mornings. I also miss having a full keyboard, since I am horrible at texting with only the number pad. It takes me like five minutes to send one text message now. Damn kids with their new technologies.

We had an awful time with customer service getting the phones, though. I wrote another review about the establishment on Yelp (shameless plug).

Nintendo DS Lite Special...
If you know me even a little bit, you know that I love Guitar Hero. To the point of obsession. If Guitar Hero were an actual person it would have gotten a restraining order against me long ago.

I have been so busy with school lately I didn't know that Nintendo made a limited edition Guitar Hero DS that comes with Guitar Hero: On Tour, but my mother did and that's what I got for my birthday. Of course, I was excited (hence the new profile picture).

The only real complaint is that they could have picked much cooler songs for the game. Who has really listened to Smash Mouth this millennium anyways? I am also tired of them putting the same songs in different games. I can already play Block Party's "Helicopter," Kiss' "Rock and Roll All Night," Santana's "Black Magic Women," ZZ Top's "La Grange," and Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Pride and Joy" on the normal Guitar Hero. Why repeat the songs? It's very annoying.

I thought the game was going to be extremely easy since there is only 4 fret buttons, but oh how I was wrong. The strumming is much harder (or just a lot different?) than normal Guitar Hero. It is annoying and good at the same time, because I thought I was going to breeze through the game but I am actually having a difficult time on some of the songs.

Now all I need to do is convince someone else I know to get the game so I have someone to duel.
