I been at it again! Writing more fashion articles for Examiner.com
In February I spotlighted some recent and upcoming fashions featuring floral details.
Today I posted my third installment to Five Fashion Investments. The investment this time? A Smooth Silhouette.
Thanks so much for looking! I really appreciate the support!
Also, any comments on improvements, suggestions for future articles or if you catch typos would be greatly appreciated!
Namaste!

Hey Ladies and Gents!
I haven't written anything new in a while . . . Well, at least not here, but I have been writing a bit for that Examiner job off and on. I figured I might as well share some of the most recent articles . . . First, I started another five part series, this one, instead of being on tips for expanding your wardrobe, is called "Five Fashion Investments" The first article in the series features Fleurings and some other jewelry that I consider a good investment.
Then I needed to do a sort of Holiday themed article so I wrote one about three affordable ways to add some glitter to your wardrobe for the holidays.
Finally, I got around to continuing my five part series and wrote an article about investing in quality leg wear that will hopefully last you through more than four wearings.
So, if you're interested, please check it out.
Also, I have a couple of ideas for other fashion investments, but if any of you ladies have any ideas I really would love to hear them. I really want to spotlight the very best products that every woman wants, that is high quality, versatile, and though it may cost a bit more than your average fashion solution, it doesn't matter as long as it's something that will truly last a long time, through much use. you know, good cost per wear.
Thanks so much for taking the time to look and for offering feedback! You all are the best!
Namaste and Happy Shopping!

First off I had the opportunity to make some Templar tunics for an indy film (see picture) and I guess it's kind of gotten me back into costume mode.
I have begun again to take commissions for Halloween costumes. I'm really excited to do this again this year!
I already have been hired to do an adult Alice in Wonderland and an infant Strawberry Shortcake.
After one costume not making it in time to Australia last year, I've decided to only ship nationally, so sorry to anyone who lives in another country. Hmm, actually, I could probably make an exception for Canada . . . I'll have to think about that.
Anyways, I just thought I'd share, since it's not too early to think about Halloween if you want to get your costume made.
Check out my Etsy shop if you're interested!
Thanks and have a great day!

I've written three new articles since my last blogzine post. I thought I'd share them here just in case anyone is interested.
First off we have the next couple of tips from my 'Five Tips to Expand your Wardrobe' series. The Skirt article was tip one. We now have tip two which talks about tailoring, and tip three which talks about dyeing. I also wrote a quick article featuring a sale that Fashion Bug is holding till July, 5.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to look. I'm really having a lot of fun writing about fashion, and if anyone has any ideas about articles I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks again!
P.s. If anyone is wondering how to get a writing job like this you can check it out here.

I recently started a new job and just about the same time that I got this new job, I also made myself a new skirt!
Happily my job title is 'Salt Lake Budget Fashion Examiner' Which means I get to write articles about fashion on a budget targeting my local area.
Examiner.com is a pretty cool website that has examiners on all kinds of topics both nationally and by city. The best thing is that I can do this all from home on my own time and I get paid to to do research about fashion and saving money and then write about it! *Happy dance!*
I've really enjoyed writing my first few articles, but I really need to create a base of readers. So, if you don't mind taking a peak and sharing, especially if you live in Utah (though a lot of what I write applies everywhere.) please do! You will be my hero!
I just finished an article for Brides on a Budget, so, if you're getting married soon or know someone else who is this could be worth a read.
I'm also super excited about the article which is the first of five that offer tips for expanding your wardrobe. This one features my new skirt and links to a tutorial on how I did it.
Apparently they have a lot of openings right now, so if you're interested in becoming an Examiner for your local area you can check it out here! -
First of all, I LOVE Halloween! I always have. And ever since learning how to sew my costumes have become increasingly more elaborate. Three years ago I made my oldest daughter a Baby Ewok costume and the year after that I made myself a Rococo gown, and last year I made my daughter a Strawberry Shortcake dress. These are just a few of the highlights of the many costumes I've made. Last year, after I posted my Halloween pics to facebook, a friend of mine suggested that I should make costumes for money. Well, as I already had an Etsy shop and a whole year to let this idea sink in, this past August I put up an ad for doing custom costumes.
I have been commissioned to make four custom costumes for Halloween this year. I still have three left about a week to do it in. I have to made a Jigglypuff for a girl in Australia. I'm working on a XXXL Cheerleader outfit for a seven foot tall man, need to start another Baby Ewok, and a 'Vintage' Witch.
On top of that I was, of course, planning to make costumes for my own family so that adds another four costumes which makes a total of EIGHT costumes that need to be done in the next two weeks. *Phew*
I hate to say it, but it looks like this will be the first year of my life that I will be re-using old costumes instead of making new ones . . . sigh. Such is life. At least Halloween is still awesome!
Peace!
