Every single article of clothing on this board is proportioned to fit a taller frame! Pair J.Crew's liberty art print button-down shirt with Gap's V-neck cardigan for light layering options as Winter weather warms up. Shades of white, coral and light yellow keep the color theme bright and ephemeral, a nod to one of Spring's hottest trends.

Well, the tunic got shelved yet again - the evening wound up being way too casual to warrant the outfit I'd put together (the story of my life.) So this is what I wound up wearing. It was comfy for dinner and a movie.
Lest you all fear the tunic will never see the light of day, I have plans to wear it to my husband's concert. His band is opening a major show in three weeks, and I'll be front and center with my liquid leather leggings. ;-)

In an effort to make this year's Valentine's day truly fab (and because I desperately need a new project now that the holidays are over,) I decided to get a head start on planning The Outfit. Here's my first attempt - revisiting the dress/tunic top I'd planned to wear to DH's Christmas work party but didn't.
One thing I'm on the fence about... the leggings. What do you think of the liquid leather? Chic or too much? Also not entirely sure the nail polish works with the rest (I'd be wearing it on my toes only,) but I wanted to make a slight departure from all the bronze and gold without going too vamp...
Major plus - all these pieces are tallgirl-friendly!

It turned out that the event was MUCH more casual than I had previously anticipated, so I scaled back the glam. I found a pair of peacock feather earrings I absolutely adore shopping at Fuego just days before the party, so I built my outfit around them with clothes already in my closet.
The top was purchased from Banana Republic's Winter 2007 line (sorry about the poor image quality) and the shoes (which are much more bronze than the picture depicts) were from Nine West's Winter 2005 line.

After weighing all opinions (
thanks to everyone who voted! I really appreciate your input!) I realized my lust for
Gwyneth's long bob just wasn't going to go away. So, picture in hand, I went to see my stylist (who also happens to be my SIL) yesterday. When she was finished, I wasn't sure if I loved the results or not. At the time I thought my mixed emotions had something to do with the fact that my hair hasn't been this short since the third grade (it came out about an inch shorter than my muse's due to an ill-conceived hooded sweatshirt worn underneath the cursory haircutting cape which elevated my shoulder line;) now I realize it's because the 'do didn't morph me into Ms. Paltrow's exact carbon copy look-alike as I'd secretly hoped (which is not necessarily the stylist's fault.)
That said, after trying it out for the better part of nine hours now, I adore my new hair. I think I've gotten past my preconceived notions enough to really embrace the length ... and all the obligatory praise its garnered from my friends hasn't hurt either!

My husband's, that is. I was hoping for black tie (there's just not enough glamour in this SAHM's life anymore,) but they're going "smart" cas. I'm thinking I'll be sporting my recently acquired Saint Grace dress/tunic (on left) and a pair of leggings. I would DIE for the Karen Zambos pair (on right) that's on Shopbop right now, but I'm iffy on whether I'd be able to scrape up the $$$ in time for them to ship to me by a week from Friday. (Those leggings, though - 40 inch inseam! Every tall girl's dream! *sigh*)
As for shoes and accessories, I'm at a loss. Boots? Flats? Flat boots? Since it's an evening affair, should I wear heels? Too slutty with the shiny leggings? Necklace or earrings? Big chunky ring or bracelets? What are your thoughts?
