So I woke up today, and it was surprisingly freezing, in Florida! It got me so excited that I decided to be winter fashionable today while running errands. Sometimes I just throw on whatever, but today I pushed myself to take the next step.
I absolutely love this outfit. The leather jacket and the boots were inspired by "The Edge" styleboard I made. It's cute and casual, but it also makes you look like a total bad***. :)
Also, I added accessories like this to make my outfit even more stylish:

(Love this cute clock necklace!)
Anddd....this is the perfume I wore:

(Lola By Marc Jacobs smells amazing. I have asked a bunch of guys what their new fav. women perfume is and they said Lola. The guys will swoon :). )
Lemme know what you think! I love opinions.

Helloo fellow fashionistas! It's been a great day in sunny Florida, it is actually pretty cold too, isn't that something? But of course the best thing about today is that...it's Paycheck Friday!
I don't know about you, but I basically live paycheck to paycheck for two weeks at a time. Businesses are cutting shifts and it's hard make the cash we used to. So...when I got that check today...all I thought about was how I was gonna blow that money...sad thought I know. Although, I have found a way to refrain my instintanious shopping craves.
But cmonn.... I know i'm not the only person who has this problem. I have been withdrawn four times from my bank account... And might you ask why? Because of tempting to shop! Its is soo addicting. I bet many of you feel this way. Especially when the style changes so much, and you want buy this printed scarf, this certain kind of skirt, a new bag, the possibilties are endless!
Now I might be a portential shopaholic, but I have learned a new technique to stop this temptation. I am getting better and better every time I step into a store. The gyst of shopping is when you're on a tight budget, you have to buy what you need, not what you always want. (okay I am sounding hypocritical with the $150 Bee Dress...buttt sometimes its okay to splurge on things you will wear endlessly.)
So ladies, here are some tips for you that will make you think the next time you pick up that scarf that you already have a million colors in...
-Impulse is a deadly sin.
I'm not kidding about this. Impulse buying happens constantly. I have been very good lately about trashing my impulse thoughts and thinking practical. So girls, do not buy something unless you think it through. These are a few questions I ask myself before I buy an item:
*Do I already have this in a different color?
*Do I have anything to wear with this?
*Will I wear it often, or just for one night?
*Do I really need this?
*Do I absolutely adore it, or could I live without it?
*Will I really wear it, or am I just in a bad mood, PMSing, or filling a certain void?
-Buy the basics, then build your wardrobe from there and onn to skys the limit!
(Essential pieces like a nice high waisted skirt, 1 pair of skinnies, 1 boot cut, 1 wide legged, nice boots, a warm coat, 3 good scarves, are examples of basics. Also, nice tanks in different colors to wear with everything. After you have these things, you can build around the foundation. Fashion is like making a neverending project. Do it your way, but end it with accessories that you actually love.
Even though we don't want to admit it, but needing and wanting are two different things. Needing is picking out jeans for the fall or buying a new peacoat or new suede boots. Wanting is buying endless counts of shirts, jewlery, makeup, and things that you will probably never wear. It is proven that if you take your time seeing the real image of an item you can enjoy your clothes more and still have some money in the bank :)
One more technique I use to stop impulse buying and spending my whole paycheck:
-Make a list of things you need.
For instance, if you desperately need a bag or new jeans, buy one and save the other for the next paycheck. Everytime you see something that you need, (to complete an outfit maybe?) write it down. Patience is the key. Budgeting is not having everything at once. You can splurge and make yourself delighted to fill that void, but pleasee I'm just begging you, don't buy 5 bags in one week :P
Lovess.

Soo this is what I am wearing to school today! I think this outfit is so fashionable but comfortably casual. Vests are still in, so this khaki really works with white tee and busy necklace. Andd my favorite of course are the tan boots(tucked in skinnies!)...obsession I know :)
Anyways, let me know what you think about this outfit!
Loves,
Kath

So these 1980's boots are coming back around and boy am I excited! The funny thing about fashion is that it will won't be the style one year, then the next year, it will be selling like crazy.
This fall, these boots are truly my favorite new fashion trend. Yes, last year, I loved wearing boots, but boots going all the way past my knee? I never thought I would step foot in those! Guess I was fooling myself alll along.
So this past month, I went absolutely crazy with boots. I basically have every color you can imagine in every shape and form. I may seem a bit obsessed, but the way I look at it is, I'll most likely wear these next season because you can wear almost anything with these boots. And all the while, your feetsies are all warm and toasty. The fall of 2009, needs a trend like this, the boot dominating this season is: the suede flat boots.
Okay, Kath, but what would I wear with these?
-Skinny jeans (tucked into boots) A very casual look you can wear everyday. You'll look fresh and natural, but carrying your style with you.
-Leggings(black is the basic color but you could go bold with a brown or navy blue pattern, hey even try to pair it with some tights!)
-High waisted skirt. (Now this is also one of my favorite trends coming in this year. The skirt needs to be above the knee for the right look you're percieving. So pair it with black tights and a patterned skirt. The world desperately needs more fashionistas.)
-A dress. (Now, I know what you're thinking. Are you crazy? A dress? I know, but hear me out. If it the right hem, above the knee and I'm thinking like a T-shirt dress or a colorblock dress will do. It could work because you're creating a casual look. The awesome thing is you dont have to wear tights or leggings all the time with these, you can just go bare-legged if its breezy one day!)
Mhmm....but where would I wear them?
-a rainy day. (Believe or not, but when its storming outside, we want to bundle and feel like we're still in our bed asleep. These boots feel like slippers to me. And I think the most annoying thing is when you're feet are freezing in open-toed shoes when it rains. Just watch out for deep puddles and you'll love these boots all day long.)
-Running errands (There easy to walk, run, skip, jump, twirl, dance, whatever you end up doing, you can do them in these boots. They basically mold your legs, so they won't be slipping off that's for sure.)
-Casual lunch date or casual dinner or drink with friend (I know there are days when I just can't find the energy to wear heels. My toes ache and my feet feel just worn out. That's where the knee-high boots come in. You can wear these to any casual outing because they are not to "I don't care" but they have the right amount of sophistication that makes your feet looks effortless.)
Sooo....pair these boots with tights, a pencil skirt, and flouncy blouse and you're ready to bounce to whatever comes your way. The word for these boots is "fearless". Trying a new trend is always exciting, but you just can't help fall instantly in love with this footwear. -
If I had one word to describe this dress it would be: "exciting". It is just brimming with confidence. All of us must know that wearing bright colors brings out a fresh, fearless personality.
Have you ever just been in a grudge where one week you will wear nothing but black and gray? I know I have, I will be doing my laundry, and be like, "damn, was I depressed or something?"
The simple truth is, we are what we wear. Well, at least that is what other people percieve. Now back to the Bee dress (thats what I shall call it!), it is always great to go bold with your colors. It is also lovely how the neutral brown (or is it black, it's hard to tell!) complements the yellow because it creates a confident statement saying that you own this dress. Yes, okay when we check the price tag, we immediately freak out. ($150?!?!) I know I would, I am a legit bargain shopper. Unless we have endless money to spend these days (which most of us don't), we won't buy it. But here is where my sneaky persuadeness comes in. Think of it as an investment. Just admit it, this dress could go so many ways. It's okay to splurge every now and then on a piece you will wear endlessly.
Truthfully, anyone could pull off this dress. With the right amount of accessories or no accessories at all, it is a classic piece you would wear forever.
Fash Stats:
Acessories Kath would wear with this dress:
-Pearl studs or off white floral earrings, or even a jade green dangles (go bold!)
-a light tan belt or black, you can change up the belt for a casual look. (dont fret, ladies! this dress can be dressy or casual. We love versatilty!)
-pearl choker (yes, i'm obessesed)
-a statement ring (i'm very into rings at the moment! I love the flower rings or rings with many jewels on them. Oh and pearl rings are always a classic :)
-flats or strappy flat sandals (for a more causal look, plus some of you may not like the feel of heels. But no worries, flats are to the rescue.
-A different colored bag (it doesn't have to be neutral alll the time! Since this dress has so much color in it, it would be safe to stick with the brown hobo...but if you experiment with outfits like I do? I would go with a jade green if its fall, and an off white bag if its summertime.
Where would I wear this dress?
-Meeting the boyfriend's family!
(ouch, now talk about nervracking. However, when you feel confident and sexy, people will see that. You would flaunt this classy look and his mother would be pleased no doubt that he is dating a girl with potential rather than his...uhh...last girlfriend...can someone say hooker?)
-Any kind of casual party (sorority R.U.S.H party, co-worker meet and greet, semi-formal) Lordd this dress can go so many ways, I'm even surprising myself!
-A first date (Believe it or not, guys say they like girls in jeans and T-shirts, but when they see this yellow dress on you, they will completely forget that assumption. It is a basic color, so it shows you have simplicty. But it also shows you have personality, that you like to look good, and you put in the effort to make people smile. Now, I'm not saying guys will pin point every detail about what you're wearing, but they will smell potential. :)
-Being Legit-
So the BeeDress from Banana Republic is on another level, or the way I have imagined myself wearing it. Banana Republic has truly made a classic piece here. Even if you totally disagree with me on the price here, go buy a Bee Dress that fits your budget! All i'm saying is that this is style. quality. Price. Right. Here. :)
When you think about it, so many of us are busy bees 24/7. But, flouncing around in this dress day and night, you'll be buzzing with fun spirit!
Sooo.... although I do like my opnions, it doesn't mean I won't appreciate yours! Let me know what you think about the Bee Dress. :)
