First of all, hi! I just realized my last blog post was in 2010. Shame on me. But absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?
This streak of sunshine is like a spring miracle (as are Reeses in the shape of an egg). So today I decide to say "suck it" to my seasonal depression and go all out. I mean, hello, you can see my legs! I had all but forgotten I even had legs. My fellow sun worshiper Adiel was also in the spring spirit and showing some shin.
What I'm Wearing:
Shirt: Myne from Nordstrom
Skirt: Anthropologie
Shoes: Franco Sarto from TJ Maxx (score!)
Oh, also, I have brown hair now! I was feeling wild a couple of weeks ago and decided to "go to the dark side" (lame joke). I think we have just one blonde left in the office now.
Happy hump day!

For the annual Kaboodle Halloween Party I was... drum roll please... a Christmas mantle! The idea came to my whilst browsing the holiday clad aisles of Michale's craft store. If this costume stirs your inner undead, here are the supplies you will need:
Sweatshirt
Mini stockings
Garland
Felt (yellow, orange, red and brown for the fire place)
Fabric glue
Assembly is so easy, even a caveman could do it:
1. Cut out flame shapes from felt and attach using fabric glue (To add some flare, I also used a bit of glitter gel to outline the shapes)
2. Attach mini stockings using fabric glue
3. Attach garland with a simple thread and needle stitch above each stocking
Wam bam! You're a full blown merry mantle!
What are you going to be this Halloween? -
Ladies and gentlelads, it's finally COLD... well, relatively anyway! Yesterday I wore a chunky sweater and today I'm wearing boots. Somebody get me a pumpkin spice latte and we can call it a day.
I've been on the search for the perfect pair of OTK boots since I can remember. It has proved quite difficult to find boots that cover my caps, since my knees stand about where most people's hips are. However, all that changed when I struck OTK gold with these Jeffrey Campbell boots! (Please note: my knees are nowhere to be seen)
With these heaven sent JC's I'm wearing an H&M tunic/top/thing and J Brand jeggings.
Happy Fall-ing!
PS. See that little silver ring on my index finger? My mama made it for me. She's learning to solder. How cute is she? -
I was thumbing through the most recent issue of Martha Stewart Living and found myself bitten by the crafting bug! My favorite ideas were the glittery pumpkins and the matte black candlesticks. Both projects are relatively simple but super stylish!
What you need to decorate the pumpkins:- Synthetic pumpkins of assorted sizes - found at any craft store
- Ultrafine glitter
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Tacky glue
How to decorate pumpkins:- Paint them the desired color (I'm thinking of doing the black and metallics but something like hot pinks and oranges would be great too). The Martha Stewart instructions also advice you to use liquid paint, but I think I'll try spray paint.
- Apply tacky glue to half of each pumpkin using a paintbrush then hold pumpkin over blow or newspaper and spoon glitter over the glued surface. Make sure you get the glitter in all the nooks and crannies! Let the glitter side dry and then repeat the gluing and glittering process.
What you need to paint the candlesticks:- Candlesticks - you can get these anywhere from Target to Goodwill
- Tarp
- Spray paint primer
- Spray Paint
How to paint the candlesticks:- Put down tarp over painting area and set the candlestick on top. Spray on one coat of primer and let dry for about an hour.
- Spray two coats of colored spray paint and let dry.
Once both the pumpkins and the candlesticks have been painted go to town decorating your home! These pieces would look great together on a table or mantle. Get some fun extras like tiered cake trays, artificial spiders and foliage. Your guests will think you spent hours, days, even weeks putting this all together but we'll both know the secret :)
Hopefully I can get started on these projects soon so I can write my follow up post with pictures!
Happy decorating! -
On Sunday, I went pre-sale shopping at Nordstrom with courtkneeann and I loved her outfit so much... I decided to copy it!
Blouse - Joie
Dress - Free People
Clogs - Jeffrey Campbell
Courtney was wearing this dress and these shoes.
If you haven't peeped the goods from Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale check out their online catalog! Some highlights from my spree were a pair of lace up Charles David boots and Steven OTK boots.
Have you snagged any sale goodies recently?
