HOW TO DO IT RIGHT:

I know mascara doesn't seem like the thing that people could do wrong, but it has to be one of the most undefined and tricky make up's to work with...People always ask which mascara is the best...well its all in the brush and and the thickness of the the product. If you get a mascara that is to thin or runny then it wont do the trick....If its way to thick then your going to end up with clump after clump...

Im going to list very simple steps so you can start to practice and make it your own...Make-up is an art so we all see it in different ways so make it your own...

Tip #1:
Apply your mascara from root to tip with no more than 4 swipes of the wand...this is to avoid those nasty clumps...

Tip #2:
There is a GREAT thing they did with a wand....They put the tip on the end where all the mascara gets gooped up on! THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR WAND! Your going to dip your wand again and take the tip with all the mascara on it and your going to make a stabbing motion into the root of your lashes, against the skin of your lid...this is going to create that beautiful thick look!

Tip #3:
Ok finally all you do is sweep the wand a couple times over the tips of your lashes to give more lenth...JUST THE TIPS, this will give you lashes the length they need without the clumps!

NOW PRACTICE!!! I will warn you...you might stab yourself in the eye and get mascara in your eye but after a few times you will master it I promise!!! ITS WORTH IT! You will have thick, long, beautiful lashes without the mess of clumps!!

The women of the 20's started the trend of wearing make up every day!! NEAT HUH?
The eyebrows were in a slightly downward shape for the true 1920’s makup....many women of the time used ivory coloured face powder for the perfect complexion they would use a cake type make up to look flawless... The blush was a look as if they just stepped inside from a chilly, winters day like reds or berry colors. The shadow was dark on the lid and even darker in the crease. Liquid liner BLACK then FAKE LASHES!! They would apply foundation over the whole lip to hide them, then would use liner to accentuate their cupids bow! Then with a red or deep deep berry they would fill in their "fake" lip!

The late 18th, early 19th century:
Men, women, and even children wore makeup to some extent in order to achieve the fashionable white face with flaming red cheeks and lips. Eyebrows were accentuated with pencils, or concealed beneath false eyebrows made of mouse fur.

Sweeny Todd is a great example of this!

We went over basics for having a blank canvas to work off of so lets get into the most important part of make-up/before make-up.

Correction of facial features! We all have one eye bigger than the other, one eye brow not as "pretty" as the other, one side of the lip not as arched as the other, etc...we are all different!

I do want to say this is a 101 version so feel free to shoot me a message with any personal questions!

I want to start with Highlight and Contour....this is the MOST important part of make-up beauty!! The top picture you will see two areas highlighted...one in white one in purple...

Contour: Using a color that is half a shade darker than you skin to hide or set a part of your face deeper....

As you can see in the picture you cant tell its make-up that is making her cheek bone seem to pop its a shade they used right under the cheek bone to create that look! You find the area by taking your 1st finger and feeling under your bone where there in a indent....that is where this is color will lay...you start at the ear tragus (the small pointy outter ear thing if that helps) and lightly sweep your contour color no more than an inch out under your cheek bone....

Highlight: Using a color that is half to a whole shade lighter than your skin, this will brighten areas and make them pop!

The picture above shows that you apply this on the top of your cheek bone...in the same way you find the bottom of your cheek bone you find the top (knowing you face is the most important part of doing your makeup...every part!)
Find the top of you cheek bone and apply the highlight color there....not to far up, not right under your eye....just on the top of the cheek bone as seen above!

If you do this you will have a star quality look!! It is so so very important!

My next blog will let you know how to correct features using Highlight and Contour!!!
