While shopping the Lower East Side on a recenet trip to NY, I came across this incredible store that specializes in Moroccan, Egyptian, Turkish and Central Asian home furnishings. I found myself falling in love with every piece in the store. I took this photo as an inspiration for a room in my apartment. The best part of this place is that the owner makes frequent buying trips and always has something new. The other amazing thing is that he can do a lot of custom work with fabrics, embroidery and upholstery. The owner is incredibly friendly and accomodating, he is happy to work with you to help you find the perfect piece for your home. Fantastic, unique and quality finds in this shop. Check it out next time you're on the East Coast, the website doesn't do the store justice!

I have lots of friends who come to stay in my home. This room was one where I could not find the right inspiration. After several months of trying to put it together, it finally came to me.
I painted the walls, and picked the fabric for the duvet and curtains which I made myself. Also, used some suede fabric that a friend had given me and covered some artist canvases to make the headboard. I added a lantern on the right to match the left (not shown). Also, I happened to have left over paint to match the headboard, so I painted the mirror.
My new guests were pretty happy with the results and I must say, I was pretty happy with it too...
Hope you like my color choices, I think they give an eclectic feel without being too literal. Also, everything here was done on a budget, so you don't have to spend a lot to make something look nice!

Nothing says Summer like bright colors and fun accessories. Yellow is my favorite color and Summer is my favorite season!
Tasteful yet whimsical.
Little treasures like these can add that little bit of happy ;)

I live for travel. I thrive on discovering new places, meeting new people and being exposed to different cultures.
My passion in life is to see the world. As much as I love to travel, I love home and interior design. I tend to like Asian and Indian influence as they reflect such a feeling of warmth and worldly charm.
I've selected several items from different places ... hope you enjoy!
