Scent Sampler Best...
Scent Sampler Best...
Hey girls and boys! If you're clueless about this season's popular fragrances like I am, I found just the thing for you guys.

For months now, I've been seeing the Vera Wang Princess perfume on a lot of your lists. I'm not really big on perfumes, nor am I picky when I do decide to wear one, but seeing how much you all like it (plus seeing how cute the bottle is) got me curious about how it smelled like. But.. I didn't really feel like going to the popular department stores just to hunt it down and smell it, nor was I gonna dish out $50 to buy it before trying it.

So today while I'm looking through the newest Allure magazine I just received in the mail, I saw an ad for this Sephora Scent Sampler Bestsellers For Her. For $50, you get ten different trial-sized tube samples of Sephora's most popular girl fragrances, including Vera Wang Princess! Well.. that's a great value and all, but still a little pricey for my taste. But seeing what they included with it is actually making me consider buying it.

In addition to these ten samples, the sample set comes with a scent certificate that you can bring to your nearest Sephora store and trade in for a full-sized bottle of your favorite fragrance out of the ten. So not only do I get to finally try out Vera Wang Princess, and not only will I have ten little samples that should last me a good while, but I also get a whole perfume. How awesome is that!

Check out http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P221804&categoryId=S20108&shouldPaginate=true to see what other samples this Bestsellers for Her set comes with. They also have a Bestsellers set for Him, as well as two other sets (though one of them is $70).

Hopefully this helps some of you become more fragrance-savvy! If I end up buying it, I'm sure it'll help me! It also makes a great gift, which is perfect since Christmas is almost here. Well I hope I helped. Have a nice day, everyone!

The Gift of Pampered...
The Christmas holidays are two months away. Sure, two months seem like a long time, but time can fly by very quickly. So it's never too early to start your Christmas shopping!

Christmas shopping can be tough, though, when you're on a budget and have a big family. And when you're married, the family becomes twice as big! So where do you go when you have to shop for plenty and you don't want your bank account going negative?

For me, the place is Bath & Body Works! Thankfully, the majority of my relatives are women, but the store does have things for men, too. It's all about pampering, and what's a better gift than pampering your loved ones? Bath & Body Works does have its expensive products, but if you shop smart, you can take advantage of their great deals. It's the perfect store!

One line they have is the True Blue Spa. It's great for loved ones who work hard and need soothing. Examples are their Moisturizing Gel Socks or their Softening Hand Lotion. They make me feel better just looking at them! Best of all, they have a 2 for $20 deal on a lot of their products!

Another line that draws me in even more is their Aromatherapy products (see image). They come in different categories, such as Sleep, Energy, and Sensuality. Last year I got my best friend the Lavender Vanilla Sleep Body Lotion, a product to relax and calm you so you sleep better. She loved it! The prices range depending on what it is, but you can find plenty of great things for cheap. The Lavender Vanilla Pillow Mist is only $10!

I saved plenty of money by shopping there last year, and I hope to do so again! Bath & Body Works is definitely my place for Christmas gifts. (Barnes and Nobles is my favorite place for birthday gifts!)

Tell me, what's your favorite holiday-shopping-on-a-budget spot?

Nikon Coolpix S50 7.2MP...
Nikon Coolpix 10.0MP...
So early last year, my husband bought me this awesome 7.2MP Nikon Coolpix S50 camera (see black camera above). For the last almost-two years, never has this camera failed me. It takes wonderful pictures, and they are so clear and vivid. So clear, in fact, that there are times when people ask me to retake a picture of them, because the camera captures every single zit or imperfection! The only thing that I am displeased with are the few scratches on the front, caused by some stupid crowdsurfers at my last concert. Otherwise, the camera is perfect and will be perfect for taking pics for years to come!

But then a few weeks ago, I see a commercial with Ashton Kutcher presenting the younger sibling of my camera: the S60 (see pink camera above). Not only does it come with 10.0MP and an awesome touch screen, but as you can see, it comes in a lovely pink color that just draws me in.

There are two downfalls: 1) This beauty costs $350. 2) I'm on a budget. Selling my old camera won't help much either, it only sells for around $100 now. But should I splurge anyway and buy this for myself for Christmas? Or am I crazy for wasting my money, when I already have a lovely perfectly-working camera, and I only want this new camera for its touch screen and pretty pink color? (cuz I definitely don't need it for the 10MP!) After all, I'm sure they'll come out with an even better camera next year, right? Then I'll feel like this new camera is outdated anyway!

Have any of you ever faced similar situations? Are you guys the type to keep up with the newest electronics, or do you think it's a waste of money? I'd love to know!

When I first began this blog a few days ago, I sat there for about an hour trying to figure out what to write about. I couldn't think of any item or service I've used lately that I had enough to say about other than simple exclamations like "This ____ is awesome!" That's why I decided to just write about my PSP. It wasn't until yesterday that I remembered I could write about one of my favorite services in the entire world: Goozex!

You might remember seeing me mention Goozex on my main profile page. For those who haven't seen it, Goozex is a wonderful trading site where you can trade video games. It's great for those who play video games a lot, and it works wonderfully!

This is how it works: Each game has a certain value of points on Goozex. 100 points = $5. You find the games you no longer want by typing them into the search bar or browsing. After finding them, you click "Have It" and it gets added to your Offers list. Goozex matches you up with someone who has the game on their Request list, and asks if you would like to accept the trade. If you say yes, Goozex transfers the game's point value from the sender's account to yours, and you are given their address so you can mail it to them.

Then you find games that you want and click "Want It" so it gets added to your Request list. After Goozex matches you with someone, Goozex will take the game's point value as well as a "Trade" from you.Trades are the only thing you ever have to pay Goozex, and they are $1 each. The sender will mail you the game within 1-3 days.

You can also buy points if you'd like, if you don't have any games to send out. Goozex has a feedback system, a forum, and a messaging system. You can put games on hold if you're not sure you want to send/receive them yet. Sadly there's no option for the sender to put the game's condition, but I have received 20+ games and the only time a package wasn't in excellent condition was when a game came with a pretty beat-up manual.

I haven't completely stopped going to GameStop, just because of the fact that new game releases DO take a while to receive on Goozex. But though I may buy a game from the store here and there, never again will I go there to trade my games. It's a rip off when they'll only take your still-popular game for $15 at most, while you have to pay $35 to buy a used copy of it! At Goozex, the point value is the same for whether you send or receive a game. So your games will keep most of their worth!

I think you all should definitely check it out. Feel free to comment if you have any questions. And don't forget to refer me!! Do so by clicking here before you sign up: http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/join.asp?idr=4872527192 . Thanks for reading!

Edit (7/14/09): July 10th was Goozex's 3rd birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GOOZEX!!!

PSP Slim and Lite (Black)
Okay, so I am completely in love with the Nintendo DS. My DS is my best friend, and I never leave home without it. It's loyal, it keeps me company, and it always looks hot. But a girl can always use more friends, right?

So when my husband bought a PSP Slim six months ago, I thought I would share the love. After all, the PSP is pretty smokin' itself. Better looking than my DS even. But looks aren't everything, and it wasn't long before I realized that the PSP and I had nothing in common.

First of all, the PSP has a terrible game library, at least for an RPG/puzzle fan. Yes, I am an RPG/puzzle fan, so understand that this review will be biased. But I'm not trying to tell you all whether you'll like the PSP or not; I'm just stating why I myself didn't like it. I think this is very disappointing coming from Sony. Sony released so many wonderful RPGs on the PSX, so I'd expect the same from their PSP. The PSP has such great potential with its graphics. I know this for a fact, as the opening movie on Final Fantasy: Crisis Core was unbelievably beautiful. So why didn't they create more wonderful RPGs for this handheld? The few they did make are mostly remakes that you can find on the DS, or games that received disappointed reviews.

So if I didn't have a huge selection of games I wanted to play on it, I figured I can use the PSP for one of its other purposes. But after thinking long and hard, I couldn't figure out what in the heck I could use it for. To hold my pictures? Nah, my digi cam has plenty of space AND makes it easy for me to show off my pics. To keep music on? That's what my husband has an iPhone for.

Then I thought, why not just carry it around with me so I can use it as a dvd player? So I looked on Best Buy to see how much PSP movies cost. Turns out they cost as much as real DVDs! No way would I spend that much money on movies that I couldn't use in other types of players. Not to mention that if I wanted to carry around the PSP in my purse like I do with my DS, I'd have to spend even more on a good case.

So after six long months having the PSP take up space in our room, my husband (who also has barely touched the handheld) and I have decided that we need to let the PSP go. Bye-bye, PSP.. I guess I can't be friends with everything!  ;)
