I was lucky enough to grab the last Rodarte dress in my size at Target the other day. I love it so much! Even though it's a summer dress, I had to figure out a way to make it appropriate for cold weather.

On a different note: I felt like wearing red lipstick and cat eyes today, which I do often. As I was walking to work past the houses on the block, these people who do nothing but sit on their front porch all day said (quite loudly so I could hear): "What's she all dressed up for?" "I could do with less make up."

At first I felt a little down, but then I thought: I like makeup and I like dressing up, and I don't need an occasion to do it either. I'm not going to let some stranger's commentary on my outfit make me feel bad about myself. I realize now that when people go through the trouble of putting you down, they are only trying to bring you down to their level. It's as simple and as sad as that.

I will continue to wear red lipstick and pretty dresses just because I feel like it. Life's too short to keep them hanging in my closet :)

As a group of friends, we all dressed up as characters from the video game, Street Fighter. I was Cammy (the one with the blond braids) and my roomie was Chun Li. It was one of the best Halloweens!! I got most of my stuff from a Costume shop that was going out of business. We got crazy into our costumes. Some people even shaved their heads for certain characters (including my boyfriend)...

Our first rain of the season! I apologize for the slightly blurry photo. It was a cloudy day, and I'm super excited about the weather.

It's finally starting to cool down in California! It felt funny wearing boots and shorts at the same time, but I love it.
