Summary:

This is a great article to share with all your male friends, your brother, uncle, and I am sure that you can subtly figure out a way for your "Hunny Bunches O' Oats" to read this and he will in no time be out buying YOU the perfect pieces of lingerie.

So, you're thinking about buying lingerie for the woman in your life.  A well chosen gift of lingerie is one of the most romantic things you can do.  It is a very intimate gift which can make lady feel sexy, desired, and loved.

Purchase the right gift of lingerie and odds are you'll be invited to unwrap it later on.  Choose the wrong lingerie and you will almost certainly offend her and the only thing you will be unwrapping is the sheet you’re putting on the couch that night.  These steps will show you how to choose the right gift of lingerie (just think of it as the kind of gift that keeps on giving).

What you will need:
Knowledge of your lady’s size, styles, favorite colors
*  About 30 minutes for a lingerie "recon" mission
*  A couple of hours for shopping
*  Around $35-$50 (or more if your feeling extra specially sweet and thoughtful)
*  Camouflage gear optional

Step 1:

First, if you don't know a bustier from a babydoll check out the lingerie glossary at http://www.freshpair.com/lingerie-glossary.html

Step 2:

Understanding that the lingerie is NOT primarily for you is the most important part of this mission.

Yes, I know you think it's for you, and I mean that in the best possible way, bless your little heart.  But, if she won't wear it, then it's a gift that neither of you will enjoy.  Women LOVE gifts that their Sugar Bear puts a little thought and effort into.  If you choose something that she will love and be excited to wear for you, then I PROMISE you that you WILL be WELL rewarded for many moons to come!

So how do you know what she'll like?  Just follow the remaining steps.

Step 3.  What's the occasion?  Or, not!

Are you buying her lingerie for a special occasion - Birthday, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Anniversary?  A silky robe or sexy gown makes a great birthday or Christmas gift.  For Valentine's Day or your anniversary try a babydoll, camisole, chemise, or teddy.

Maybe you're buying lingerie in order to spice things up.  Try giving her lingerie for no reason at all and see the reaction!  Depending on her adventurous nature you might want to try something with garters and thigh highs or a sassy lil number in leather or vinyl.  You can also play dress up with a sexy costume or corset.

Step 4.  Prepare yourself for a “Lingerie Reconnaissance Mission”

This is something most men can handle - a reconnaissance mission.  Feel free to wear fatigues if it helps.  You're going to recon her underwear draw and closet.  What are you looking for?  On this mission you are searching for three pieces of intelligence - size, style, and color.

Step 5.  Know Her CORRECT Size

First, you need to know her sizes.  So, start by finding her bras.  Look at the label.  It probably says something like 34B or 36C.  Just so you know, the number part is the size in inches around her chest just below the breasts.  The letter portion represents cup size or the size of the breasts –I’m sure this goes without saying…A's are smaller than D's.

Next, try to find a slip, nightie, or some of her current lingerie.  Note the size - it's usually small, medium, large, x-tra large, etc.  Check a few different items and choose the size that appears most often.

Step 6.  What's Your Lady's Style?

Now look through her current lingerie and clothes.  What styles does she prefer?  If all of her panties are briefs, she might not wear a thong (on the other hand maybe she's just waiting for an excuse).  Try a nice boy short type in lace or silk as an alternative.  If she's never worn leather or vinyl you might need to introduce these types of items gradually.  You can start with just panties or a bra.  These are not too extreme and are inexpensive.  ..  Maybe add some thigh highs to the mix to “sass” it up a bit.

Step 7.  Your Girl Most Assuredly has a Favorite Color!

Finally, note the color of her undies, bras, and lingerie.  Who cares about color you ask?  Well, she probably does.  Some colors might look better on her.  Also, if you're planning to buy her something to wear under her everyday clothes, certain colors (like red or black) might show through a sheer blouse.  Try colors like deep purple, hot pink, teal, or baby blue.  Having said all that, keep in mind that most women won't buy themselves “Smoking Hot” red lingerie - this is your job!

Step 8.  How much should you or will you expect to spend?

Remember, cheap lingerie will make her feel cheap, so don’t try to make her a bra out of your discarded Hanes.  The good news is that high quality lingerie does not have to be expensive.  A basic camisole or panty set usually sells for less than $45.  Whatever your budget, I’m sure if you completed your recon mission, you will find something she will love, and you will receive an appropriate commendation.

Step 9.  Time to SHOP!

Okay, you’ve  gathered your intelligence and are ready to make a decision.  You can travel to the mall and go to one of the large lingerie retailers.  Or, better yet, try a specialty lingerie boutique in your city.  If you are confident in having the correct sizes I would even suggest purchasing online.

Tip:  You can STILL get her something racy for under the business suit like self adhering thigh highs with matching lacy bra and undie set.

Tip:  Last but certainly not least…have fun!  Don’t be scared or shy in the store and if you get lost…it’s not directions to the ballpark, so don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Warning:  Before you buy, you also need to think about how and where will the lingerie be worn?  Is this an item that will be mostly worn in the bedroom, for your eyes only?  Or will she wear it under her everyday clothes?  She might be willing to wear something that's SOMEWHAT uncomfortable for a few minutes in the bedroom, but she won't want to wear it all day long.

Warning:  Use with caution:  Buying gifts that take a little effort and are very thoughtful for your Sugar Dumpling may be super beneficial to your love life, physical well-being, and future success in your relationship.  Be prepared for all the repercussions!

This is a temporary quick slim method used in Day Spas.  Try this GREAT fast fix for those special occasions where you need to squeeze into your thin clothes NOW!

How this works:  Jojoba oil is a liquid wax that emulsifies fats.  Grapefruit detoxifies, orange cleanses, and lemongrass removes accumulated toxins in the body.  The cling wrap keeps the oils from evaporating and forces them into your skin while also making you perspire.  This helps shape your waist quickly (although the effect is only temporary).

What you need:

60ml Jojoba oil

5 drops of Lemongrass essential oil

10 drops of Grapefruit essential oil

3 drops of Orange essential oil OR

Set-N-Me Free Body wrap solution

Saran wrap

Loofah or Scrubby bath gloves

Large Ace Bandages or strips of material made from an old cotton sheet

Step 1:  Dry loofah your body to slough off dead skin cell.  This will allow your skin to better absorb the full benefit of the herbs and reap all the body wrap rewards

Tip:  Couple this wrap with a facial mask or eye mask to maximize your beauty time effectively.  Try using the many recipes in the book How To Stay Fashionable AND Smoking Hot In Today’s Crumbling Economy!

Step 2: Mix essential oils together with jojoba oil.

Step 3:     After you dry loofah your body or use dry scrubby bath gloves, take a nice hot shower to open up your pores.

Step 4: After your shower, make sure you allow your body to dry completely (Dry with towel then air dry to cool off for about 10 minutes.

Step 5: Using motions massage oil on your waist, tummy, thighs, booty, muffin-top (if you have one) and arms.

Step 6: Wrap all the areas of your body you applied oil to with either large ace bandages or you can tear up an old cotton sheet into strips and use to wrap the body areas instead.

Tip:  It is not mandatory to use the bandages or sheet strips.

Step 7: Go over the areas you wrapped in the bandages or sheet strips with saran wrap.

Step 8:  Relax under a warm blanket for 45 minutes to an hour and then unwrap your body and massage in remaining oil residue into your body.

The Woman's Secret Search For The Holy Grail (Or Finding The Right Bra)

We've been hearing it for years. Seven out of ten of us are wearing the wrong size bra, ladies! And having a bra fit by a 'professional' may not help at all!

Too often, we rely on those silly little things called tape measures to 'tell' us what size we are and stick to it like gum on a shoe, when in reality, the fit will be different depending on the style, manufacturer and fabric. Charts and measurements are often no help, especially when it comes to larger sizes.

Women who have gone to have a sizing done by a professional bra fitter do not always get the best results, especially if the fitter is inexperienced or has received little training.

Your best bet? Grab a handful-no pun intended- of bras in your general size and start trying them on!

The most common problem: cups and underwires. Cups should fit comfortably. In other words, your cup should not runneth over-no bulges from the front or sides; nor should they be baggy. Underwires should fit under and around the breast, resting comfortably on the ribcage-never on the breast itself and you should be able to raise your arms above your head comfortably.

To find the right fit you’ll also need time. Take a Saturday and make it your mission to find 'the right one'. If you decide to see a professional, a good fitter will make you feel comfortable and at ease and will explain what she is doing.

Try going to Nordstrom, Macys, Victoria's Secret, or a specialty lingerie boutique in your area.  They employ professionals trained in correctly fitting women for the right bra size AND type.  She will check where the wire, the underband and the straps fit and have the ability to know from a mathematical formula how to fit you with a bra that is supportive and comfortable, not to mention attractive and flattering to your figure.

You don't have to spend a fortune but every woman needs a few bras of good quality in her drawer.  Remember, you get what you pay for.  When you find a bra that fits correctly, you’ll feel – and look – better.

You’ve now eliminated one of the biggest problems that women face when purchasing these undergarments, so go shop with confidence.  At last, you won't have to be one of those 7 out of 10 women walking around doing the bra cha-cha (1, 2, 3-tug and adjust).

Wouldn't that be just the grooviest?

A Little Fashion 101

If you are the average woman, knowing all the ins and outs of fashion is not something you have time to learn and research.  With our busy lives, we just buy what we think will look nice and is affordable.  However, there are some simple rules you can follow to keep yourself “In Fashion”, so to speak.  These rules are:

1.   Don’t try to update your whole wardrobe at once!  It’s always best to try out “a look” or “new fashion” before buying out the store. You may find that the look is great for you and then you can add more pieces gradually.  Sometimes you will find the look is all wrong for you, so adding only a few pieces won’t break your bank account.

2.   You should never buy something you feel you are ‘too old’ to wear!  If you do buy it, you probably won’t wear it because you won’t feel comfortable in it.

3.   You shouldn’t be scared to dress outside of your normal age group!  When you are 35, that doesn’t automatically take mini skirts out of your wardrobe, just don't go micro mini and only if you have great legs.  Just because you are 22, that doesn’t mean you have to wear mini skirts, either.  Go with the fashion and style you look good in and feel comfortable wearing.

4.   Black clothes almost always look more flattering, expensive and sophisticated!  Having some black “staple” clothing is always a good fashion idea.

5.   When you don’t have money, don’t go shopping!  Buying cheap clothing just because you went shopping is usually a bad investment.  It won’t be what you really wanted and you probably won’t wear that fashion of clothing much.

6.   Don’t shop based on fashion fads!  When you’ve heard about a particular fashion fad, it will probably be over!  Fad fashion never has a long lifespan, so stick with the general fashion trends and if you must buy the latest fad, but a few pieces and pair them with what you already have.  This will add a definite "personal" touch to your style that is all your own.

7.   Step outside your “fashion box” for a while!  If you are normally conservative, try a miniskirt or some low cut jeans for a change.  Not comfortable with that…just add a fringed or sequins handbag to your collection or a really cool funky belt.  Everyone, no matter their fashion sense, should have fun with the fashions they wear on occasion.  Even though you will normally go back to your old look, you will probably have a new approach to it.

8.   Don’t let fashion jeopardize your professional image!  See-through, low neckline, sleazy fashions will never do wonders for your career.  Those fashions are simply inappropriate for the 9 to 5 world.

9.   Fashion is only a small part of the whole “you”!  If you put a lot of time and effort into other aspects of your life, what you wear won’t be what everyone notices about you.  Don’t spend all your time worrying about your wardrobe fashion.

10.   When you look at fashion, it is all about YOU!  Love a look…look great in it…can afford the clothing…then buy it!  Fashion is just that simple!

Hi!  My name is Maria Ferguson and I am a Public Speaker, Corporate Coach, Empowerment Coach, and Author.

I have released a book that is ALL about fashion and beauty.  How in today's shaky economy, we have had to be more frugal with our money, but we REFUSE to compromise our style and beauty just because we have to pinch pennys like never before!

This book tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about how to stay just as smoking hot as ever without breaking the bank.

Because I am a life coach, I have also incorporated an empowerment message for women all of personalities, shapes, and styles.  This book isn't just about beauty and fashion...it's about loving yourself and "OWNING" all that you are while matching your inner beauty with your outer beauty.

I LOVE everything there is about beauty and fashion, but I ALSO  love everything about being a confident, beautiful, intelligent, hot, sexy woman who KNOWS that even though I have a few flaws and "quirks" it makes me who I am and I own that!  Therefore I have a great body image and healthy self-esteem.  People FEEL me projecting that and treat me exactly how I WANT them to treat me.

I want to help as many women as I can feel the same...it's NOT about vanity, conceit or being a diva...it's about confidence, BABY!

I will be giving 10% of my book sales to foundations that help women recovering from the devastating effects of breast cancer...because think about it...who needs to feel more confident and beautiful than these women?

I will also be releasing a special "In Her Shoes" edition with specific information, resources, support, inspiration, hope, personal survivor stories and LOVE for women with breast cancer.

I will be giving those ebooks away for free.  5000 initially and then for every original copy sold, I will give away 5 "In Her Shoes" copies.  I would love to give away more, but until I have the administration support to handle those requests, I will have to limit it to what we can handle right now.

I actually just now thought of a way for you to help!  I will take the "In Her Shoes" edition and release it with the ability for women EVERYWHERE to forward it to ANYONE they know with breast cancer...or any other type of cancer for that matter.

These are our sisters and we have to stick together and take care of our sisters in their time of need.  It truly is all about helping as many women as we can stay positive and support them in EVERY possible way while they are dealing with something that is not only traumatic mentally, emotionally, and financially, but also physically.

So I ask you...Help me make a difference!
Yours in beauty, confidence and sisterly love,
Maria
