Cheeky Me Leg Warmers...

I have always been a fan of leg warmers. Ever since I was little and came across my mother's from her days of ballet.
They were pale pink, soft, and comfortable. I wore them with my ballet shoes and my flowing skirts.
Now that they seem to have "come back" I feel the need to wear mine even more often than before. And with every comment on my 'excentric' way of sporting them, I feel better and better.
I have also recently gotten very much into knitting. Which is something I sort of forgot for a while. Now I am busy knitting up a storm as i employ my newly learned technique of the mighty Pearl.

Mother of pearl.

Sunflower Printed Dress Sexy Prom Dresses from... Zebra Mini Dress

I remember prom in my black, ivory, and fuscia dress (and fingerless gloves of course). I remember my date wearing pink just to match me, and I remember the shirley temples. The best part was me letting go of inhibition (sans alcohol) and dancing the night away. Something I am not quite accustomed to doing. My date gave me all of the confidence to do that, but the night was definitely made better by my 25 dollar/looks really expensive dress. I have an insane love of dresses.

Casual or fancy.
By themselves, ontop of things.
With sneakers, with heels, barefoot.
At parties, at class.
Pockets, ruffles, belts, lace, prints.
Cotton, satin.

It's the first place I head when I go thrifting. I love them on hangers and on me. There are pink frilly ones, black slinky ones, gray professional(lly sexy) ones, and many different styles in between. No matter what the store or the style, there's a dress for it. There are even dresses made for people who don't seem to be all that in to dresses.

What is it about dresses that makes me feel great. I always feel more spectacular when wearing them. I think part of it is the spin factor. Who doesn't love a piece of clothing that moves with you? I think it's also the whole, feeling feminine thing. Although I don't usual catogorize myself as girly, I love getting all dolled up once in a while.
And with no excuse to get dolled up, sometimes you just have to create one. Sometimes you just have to pull out the blue mascara and the cute little thing that hits above your knees, and go with it. Unless you live in new england and it's any season other than summer. In which case you should also don some cute leg warmers. Because really, you just never know what The weather will be like by the time you get down your apartment building's stairs.
