my folksy finds

here is the second find from west elm. i just love the simplicity of this bed set with the black, sketchy tree and bird motiffs. i think you could really mix and match this up with other prints and colors. make it summery with yellow and green or fall and winter with browns and wines...lovely lovely!!

i just received the new west elm catalog...and of course i am loving the new bird motiffs they have featured in it. this plate is lovely bird silhoutte on a perfect blue. a little simple goth with a colorful twist, i love it!

i just had to post once more, another great find from viva terra. how lovely would it be to have this illuminated owl lamp on the side table next to your bed? i would absolutely love it!

i just received the latest viva terra catalog this afternoon. i enjoy perusing through all their goods, with wonderful craftmenship, eco-friendly and fair trade items. this one especially stood out to me. i adore this embroidered yellow rabbit design against the white organic cotton handbag. it has nice big opening with an even wider bottom, great for toting around all your essentials, along with book, sketchbooks and other little things (like me!). what's even better, these bags provides a crucial source of income for the women who make them (see the link for more info). anyone want to gift me? (lol)!

if you have children or just a wonderful sense of imagination and creativity, then i think you would enjoy making shadow puppets. i saw this book and i have to get it for my four year daughter and myself. it will be perfect for summer nights, for inside or outdoor camping, and just for fun too! check out the rest of the site of the curiousity shoppe. i think you will enjoy all that the have just like i do.

my daughter and i just recently went to a park that has a variety of birds and ducks. after we came back home, we went through a couple of birds books we have to see if we could identify some of the birds. how neat it would of been to have a few birds whistles to play around with, even if those particular birds where not there. yes, we need to begin our orinthology kit, starting with some of these cool whistles from uncommon goods. it doesn't end there either! i love receiving the latest catalog from them because just as their name says, the have a wonderful stock of great and uncommon items. check them out!
