WIW -- Jeanius!

Whoever invented the concept of boyfriend jeans is a true genius.

Can it possibly get ANY better than a pair of loose, slouchy, comfy jeans that you can dress up or down?

AND perhaps the best part about buying my Levi's 501 button-fly boyfriend jeans pictured above was that I could buy them two sizes smaller than regular jeans!   Now, THAT is a stand up and cheer moment!

The rest of the outfit?
-- Boho-style tunic from my fave store in Canada, Jacob
-- Necklace from Martin + Osa
-- Watch by L.A.M.B
-- Strappy sandals from Franco Sarto at Nordstrom

Wow, it's been a while, huh?   Sorry to have been MIA for so long!   With work and travel, my Kaboodling has been limited to fly-by product adds, a few random comments and hearts here and there, but NOW.... now, I'm BACK.

And what better way to come back than with a new WIW post??

Here are the goods:

Dress:  Adorable knit that I picked up in Ireland this past June, thanks to the eagle eyes of my personal stylist, virtualrudy.

Tights:  Banana Republic

Shoes:  Cole Haan

Necklace:  Twisting Tree necklace from ModCloth

Wedding Band:  virtualrudy (now get why he's my lifetime personal stylist?)   ;-)

(and thank you to triplyksis for snapping the pic!)

We are all just a tiny bit obsessed with Mad Men at the Kaboodle offices and we christened last Wednesday "Mad Men Day" so we could rock some early '60's looks and celebrate the return of series with the premiere of Season 3 last Sunday!

Dress:   another little gem from my fave Canadian chain, Jacob
Shoes:   Sam & Libby (picked up at a STEAL at DSW)
Necklace:  Banana Republic

You can also check out the Posh Kit and Buzz Kit for details on the day!

Here's what I wore:

Orange pleated skirt:   Banana Republic
Ruffle front top:  Gap
Platform pumps:  Banana Republic
Wide suede belt:  Banana Republic

(Guess I should branch out beyond BR.... hard when they always have such great stuff!)

Total Madness!

I am completely obsessed with the AMC show "Mad Men".... I've created my own MM avatar like many other Kaboodlers have and now I've entered the Mad Men Casting Call contest!

AMC and Banana Republic have teamed up to present an awesome promotion where you can upload a photo of your mad self in order to enter to win a walk-on role on the show as well as a $1000 shopping spree at BR.   (Check out the contest site here.)

My entry photo is above and can also be found here.... go on and click through and give your fave entries some "stars" (their equivalent to Kaboodle's "hearts").  And don't forget to enter yourself -- contest closes on August 11.

Good luck, mad women!!

What I Wore on 07.23.09

I cajoled my husband into taking these photos of me and as always, he was a great sport about the whole thing, even when I asked him to re-take the shoe photo a few times because I just wasn't digging the results we were getting.   As he was crouched down trying to get a decent angle on my feet, one of our neighbours walked by and tossed us a quizzical look, but probably knew better than to ask what was up.

Here's what I wore the other day:

SkirtBanana Republic.  (Awesome silver-grey color, almost a taffeta-vibe to the fabric, but much less "80's prom".)
TopJCrew (pin-tucked around the neck)
CardiganJCrew (and just the perfect length)
BeltBanana Republic (might have actually found this at the outlet store, I think)
ShoesBanana Rebpulic (two-tone grey slingbacks, extra fun because of the matte and patent leather combo)
Necklace:  The Bay (another find on my last trip back to Canada -- love the twist on the more traditional pearl look.)
