The Ashford Joy Spinning Wheel is the solution to portable hand spinning. You can take this spinning wheel with you wherever you go! Enjoy a great quality portable spinning wheel from Ashford New Zealand that won't break the bank. The revolutionary design is ultra light weight and folds up to fit inside a custom carry bag. I'll add that the bobbins are really inexpensive for this wheel which is a plus (about 1/3 the price of say...Louet bobbins). This wheel is very stable and a great choice for Features a built in lazy kate so you can leave your bobbins on it while it's in the carry bag which is a very convenient feature. The tension is easy to adjust and bobbins are easy to change. The ratios on this wheel will go fast enough to spin cotton. I should add Rachel here at the shop is spinning a skein of stretched merino (Optim) fiber and creating an absolutely magical skein of lace weight yarn. It is fully packaged with three bobbins in its own thermal bag. We also include a travelling kate in the bag for total freedom. The Gem is also available packaged with the folding stool and they can be ordered together. This means the Gem is very suitable for use while on vacation or away from home as it can be transported folded flat but assembled or in the special carry bag made for this wheel.
