Dell believes the customer experience starts with providing relevant technology at the best value and continues by partnering with our customers to protect the environment throughout the product lifecycle.

Dell is committed to minimizing its impact on the environment at every stage of the product lifecycle. Plant a Tree for Me is the latest program in our broad environmental stewardship platform.

Climate change is among the biggest environmental issues this century. While most agree that we must do something, the challenge can appear to be too great, too complicated for any one of us to make a difference…until now .

Dell, in partnership with The Conservation Fund and carbonfund.org, has launched Plant a Tree for Me, a program that makes it easy and affordable for individuals, corporations or even entire communities to “go zero” by measuring and then offsetting their carbon emissions associated with the electricity generated to power their computer systems – simply by planting trees.

How does a Flight TerraPass work?

Your purchase of a Flight TerraPass results in reductions in carbon dioxide emissions elsewhere, by funding industrial efficiency and renewable energy projects such as wind farms.

Renewable energy from wind reduces carbon dioxide emissions by displacing power generated from fossil fuels. And industrial efficiency projects reduce carbon dioxide emissions through conservation.

In this way, your Flight TerraPass results in a guaranteed reduction in carbon dioxide emissions, balancing out the global warming impact of your flying.

In the spring of 2007, PG&E will launch ClimateSmart, a first-of-its-kind voluntary program that will allow our customers to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and make their home or office energy use "climate neutral." To learn more or... See more more

How It Works

When a PG&E customer uses an average amount of electricity and natural gas, 5.3 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2)—a greenhouse gas—is emitted into the atmosphere each year. Through ClimateSmart, customers can choose to pay a small amount on their monthly utility bill (based on energy usage), which will fund new environmental projects aimed at removing an equal amount of CO2 from the atmosphere – making the customer's energy use "climate neutral."
