The guys from digitalfive have made a nice package of unofficial Windows Vista sounds available for download. These were NOT created by Microsoft, however they do sound really nice and can be used on any Windows version supporting sound schemes. (In the Windows Vista CTPs, you will need to rename the “Windows Vista (event).wav” files to “Windows XP (event).wav”, where (event) is something such as “Hardware Exclamation”, “Error”, etc.).
