Panelists commented on the brewed coffee's fresh taste and heady aroma, a result of the unit's direct grind-to-brew system that uses an integrated bean mill to grind beans only for the coffee you are about to drink, ensuring optimal freshness. The stainless steel, insulated thermal carafe retained 88% of the coffee's peak temperature four hours after brewing, unlike lesser carafes tested that were only able to retain 72% to 80% of the initial coffee temperature, keeping brewed coffee hot without cooking the liquid as is common with many hot-plate coffee makers.
