In this month’s Metropolitan Home, I learned that noted architect , Jeffery Povero, who used to build many a library when working for Robert A.M. Stern, also knows a thing or two about making the most out of prevailing light. In order to make a room seem larger, Povero mirrored the window recesses, a way to take advantage of views and light. He also utilized opposing paint colors: Benjamin Moore’s Iron Mountain and white in the recesses to dematerialize at the edges. The resulting effect: an 860 square foot apartment that seems larger and brighter. See less
