But the directions included are not clear. It took me quite awhile to figure out how to do the lock stitch according to the directions. Once I understood the "lame" instructions, I sewed some patches on my work jeans and they have held up very well. They need better illustrated instructions. By the way, Joann Fabrics in Indianapolis IN (Castelton) does not carry these awls. And the staff acted as if they had never heard of an awl. Before finding this product I spent about 3 hours laying out my pattern with a ruler. Now it takes 15 minutes.
