It's creation was influenced by biomechanics, the shadowboxes of Joseph Cornell, the literature of Franz Kafka, and the aesthetics of the modern movement known as Steampunk; a sub-culture based on Victorian Invention, such as the steam powered engine and other mechanical devices that go whirr, whiz, and POP! This unique piece features an antique watch movement enhanced with the addition of natural sapphire and citrine cabochons and a jewel-like insect specimen of the species Sagra Longicollis from Thailand. The combination of which illustrates the beauty of human invention as well as the splendors of Nature's own handiwork. This miniature work of art can be worn as a hat band, head band, scarf, necklace, belt, bracelet, and any other way you can think of.
