Bumblebee has been a very popular character in the world of Transformers, so I decided to make him using the new VW Bug design. After buying a VW plastic model kit, and an extra Sideswipe Alternator, I began sketching out the transformation and "look" of the robot. Bumblebee is basically a backwards Sideswipe, with the additon of gundam parts, other TF bits, and a customized head. He took about a week to create and complete. He transforms from Bug to robot and back and features poseability in his hips, knees, ankles, arms, waist, and neck. I also felt he needed a bigger gun, so i painted up a large Gundam weapon which fit perfectly on his shoulder and in his hand. I hope this figure inspires more of you kitbashers to create more updated G1 characters into binaltech works of art. What do you use to make your kitbashes?
