Make sure to use a fresh (sharp) blade, otherwise the cork may crumble. * Then, with the cork set flat on the table, make a slice down the middle lengthwise, but not all the way through. * Cut the cardstock to a rectangular shape (or a fun shape) a bit larger than the width of the cork. * Scribe your guests names using a calligraphy pen. * If you like, you can hot glue a magnet strip to the bottom of the cork placecard holder. If your table happens to be metal, this will keep it in place and weighted down. If not, you can slip an adhesive magnet under your table cloth to make sure it stays in place. You can also use this cork placecard holder to display photographs or your bridal shower invites at the center of each table. Since birds haven't shown much appreciation for literature, these imaginative birdhouses will do much better decorating the inside of your house than serving as theirs. Designer Dave Vissat stumbled upon this idea when he was making a birdhouse for his mother. He ran out of wood, so he resorted to using an old book as a roof. Then he began incorporating interesting text and illustrations as well. Now, Vissat searches and scavenges flea markets and libraries for discarded and vintage books, then he scans the cover, makes a print and affixes it to the exterior of the house. These ornamental wooden houses use books and imagery from classical and popular literature to capture a past era in American culture. The classic classic To Kill A Mockingbird house, features a twig perch, Gregory Peck movie poster and excerpts of the story as siding. Made in Pennsylvania. For indoor use only. See less

All you need to do is assemble a cardboard frame, fill it with soil, seed it with grass, then stand back and watch it bloom. In just a couple weeks, a green and grassy armchair will appear in your lawn! This reminds us of the ReadyMade Make-Your-Own-Lawn-Couch project, and Julian Lwin’s Biodegradable Bench that we covered a few days ago. Here is yet another in my 'food' series. . . .the waffle!! This measures 44 inches round to round but 54 inches with the 'syrup' that flows over the sides. It is painted on light weight vinyl with 2 coats of primer under 2 coats of latex base. Then each square is hand painted with butter and amber acrylics to keep you craving these all day long! 3 coats of (water based) diamond polyurethane are glossed over for durability. It is primed on the underside but I do recommend a slip guard, which is not included. As with the 'cupcake' that was painted before, this one was also done in a LARGE custom size and looks awesome in a kitchen! This one was a previous customers and yours would be painted FRESH. Please allow 10 days. As you can see by one of the pictures my son LOVES to come lay on this in the morning ( I have one too!!!) and I pretend to scold him for getting all 'sticky', one of our favorite morning rituals.
