Amazon.com Review Cat's Cradle, one of Vonnegut's most entertaining novels, is filled with scientists and G-men and even ordinary folks caught up in the game.

Comments (1)

Read.....one of my favorites. Pay special attention to the "instructions" at the beginning of the book and at the end of the book. My favorite Vonnegut book.

Review I do not know of any other writer who has done as much with language as Mr. Burgess has done here-the fact that this is also a very funny book may pass unnoticed. -- William S. Burroughs Novel by Anthony Burgess, published in 1962.

If you know even just a little Russian, it adds a lot to the understanding and enjoyment of this book. Particularly the word Droog (fictionalized and written in the alphabet we are familiar with....). This word means "friend", "buddy", "pal", in Russian.

maybe understanding russian would help, i found this book intolerable with all the slang, i just couldn't finish the first chapter! very demoralizing, because even if i don't like a book, i like to finish it just to give it a chance and have closure... i failed with this one :(

Product Description The story of Thomas Sutpen, an enigmatic stranger who came to Jefferson in the early 1830s to wrest his mansion out of the muddy bottoms of the north Mississippi wilderness

Comments (1)

Probably the most complex book I have ever read. The subplots involving the culture of places and times over the years in Southern well-to-do families is so intricate, as is the main story, that reading this is like watching the rings from a pebble thrown into a lake radiate outward. It is a book that really stays with you.

Read this...my 36 year old son with asperger's syndrome gave it to me. Asperger's is on the most functional end of the Autism spectrum. I am looking forward to reading, Look Me in the Eyes...because it is by an adult who, like my son, has Asperger's but was undiagnosed until he was an adult.

I loved this book! :] and I dont read lol

both me and my younger brother thoroughly enjoyed this book. i hope mark haddon writes more novels!

Simple on the surface, extreme difficult to grasp on the philosophical, theological plane....although this is by far the best book I have ever read meant to help those in the laity understand a bit better the depth of the Creator.

I read Anwar Sadat's autobiography and it fascinated me. What a shame he died after finally deciding the way to peace in the Middle East is to accept Israel as a legitimate nation. A noble warrior, he had become a true ambassador for peace.
