The Atlantic Pyrenees are situated in the North east of Navarra, where the Pyrenees are at their mellowest. Here villages harmoniously combine the aristocratic with the popular, manifested in the fortified manor houses, palaces and typical farmhouses. The Atlantic Pyrenees are unique and totally different to the rest of Navarra, a unique landscape, at times serene and at other moments completely wild. In Aragon, the province east of Navarra, the peaks are at their highest before reaching Catalonia, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean.
