I have several other movies with his work. Better actors could not be cast in the various roles; I have to mention a few, however this does not detract from the other performers. Maggie Smith is recognized from many BBC productions and fits the part of Thetis. Judi Bowker as Andromeda has to play a range of emotions and is beautiful enough to be a princess. Of course everyone recognizes Burgess Merideth; I remember him best as Commander Egan Powell, Intelligence Officer, in "In Harm's Way" (1965). STORY: Truly a comic book movie. Sandy Shaw's story combined with Susanne Chan's script has it all. Ass kicking babes, super powered villains, and government conspiracy. It also has a very "Batman" feel to it, with it's darker tone and setting. ACTING: Well, it's kind of hard to judge, due to the audio being re-recorded. However, Michelle Yeoh, Maggie Chung, and the late Anita Mui play their parts well, and draw you in with just their stage presence. Gone is the light hearted fare of the first movie. The three of them have gone totally into serious mode. The same goes for the rest of the cast. You can really sense their pain, and you totally believe that these people are at the worst point of their lives. FAN SERVICE: There is a bathtub scene (sorry it's full of bubbles). Gone are the tight and sexy outfits. In a post apocalyptic world, sexy fashion goes out the door. See less

If you love classic films and you love special effects, then you are undoubtedly passionate about the films of legendary Ray Harryhausen, and this is one of his best. In this movie, Harryhausen uses his stop-motion technique in color for the first time (and the print here is terrific) to tell the tale of Sinbad (Kerwin Mathews) as he sails the seas, forms an uneasy alliance with an evil magician (Torin Thatcher) and battles a Cyclops, a two-headed Roc and a dragon. Other memorable effects include the genie Berani and the interior of his magic lamp, the Princess Parisa being shrunk and the servant woman who is turned into a dancing half-woman, half-snake. The action starts right away and continues throughout the film, and Bernard Herrmann's music is, as always, absolutely perfect. Amazon.com In this last go-round for the Sinbad series, Patrick Wayne plays the legendary sailor. He is betrothed to Farah (Jayne Seymour) and seeks her hand in marriage, but her brother Kassim has been turned into a baboon by the evil Zenobia (Margaret Whiting). Before he can break Zenobia's spell, Sinbad must contend with the Minoton, a bronze statue brought back to life to do her bidding; a trio of flaming skeletons wielding swords; a 9-foot-tall troglodyte; and a saber-toothed tiger. Wayne is the film's weakest point, making a rather wooden Sinbad. Whiting's performance smells strongly of ham, but it's a brand of ham that fits the movie perfectly. As always, though, Harryhausen's work is outstanding. He instills more personality and character into his creatures in this outing, especially for Kassim and his relationship to his sister.
