Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend The 40D is a nice step up from the 30D. The controls should be familiar to anyone who has used an EOS - Canon seems to know what works, and retains the same comfortable feel from one model to the next. Some of the controls that were to the left of the 30D screen are now along the bottom due to the larger LCD. That LCD and the ability to compose a scene on the LCD, are useful new features. The sonic CCD cleaner is also a big plus, particularly if you change lenses a lot. I wish they would have included a lens hood with the 28-135mm IS USM lens though! See less
