Hand-crafted in an age old Italian tradition, these generously sized albums will hold many generations of memories. The finest quality cowhide available in the world is used to create these luxurious, leather album covers. Artisans skillfully tool the leather by hand using methods and techniques that have been passed down through the years. The embossed designs have been carefully chosen to create a magnificent album with old world charm and appeal. The centerpiece is a gold fleur de lis (meaning flower of the lily), a design that dates back to the 3rd millennium BC and has been found in many ancient cultures, typically playing the role of a royal attribute. The inside covers are finished in a lustrous, chestnut brown moire fabric. The heavy paper sheets used in the album are exceptionally fine quality and, of course, are acid free. Containing 100 pages (50 sheets) with a usable page size of 17 x 17.5 inches, each library bound page is separated by a patterned interleave to protect the photographs. Although similarly designed, each album is one of a kind and will differ slightly due to inconsistencies in the natural leather used in it”s construction. Measuring 18.5 x 18 inches overall, each album is wrapped in a drawstring bag and is boxed.
