What we mean by "Legalize LA" There are roughly 12 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. Almost all of them pay taxes into the system because their employers deduct taxes from their earnings. Billions of dollars are paid into social security alone which benefits America's elderly. What about the jobs generated by their demand for goods and services, or the positive effect their personal consumption has on the U.S. economy? Immigrants are students and entrepreneurs. They have families, homes, cars, and lives, just like you. They are active members of the U.S. economy and society. They are not "invaders" and should not be treated like criminals. Everyone should be aware of how immigrants (legal or not) are woven into our everyday lives, and the growth and success of our country.
