Reviewed By: Victim of Apple on 11/21/2007 Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month Pros: Pretty, larger screen, 80gb I just had to have that touch wheel. Cons: I am so disgusted with myself for buying this. It had such good storage and the cool wheel, but didn't last a month. It would need to be re-synced once a week which took a day for 80gb.Then one day it wouldn't turn off. Newegg has no warranty, and will have no responsibility to their customer. Newegg is usually the greatest. NO RETURNS. NO SERVICE. NO NOTHING! If you buy this you are on your own. Basically I'm ending up with refurbished unit for brand new cost. Other Thoughts: There are a huge batch of bad Ipods out there right now. Wait until they get the bugs out. Customer service was atrocious. You wait 20 minutes to talk to "Kent" or "GG" , and if you can understand through their harsh Indian accents they will refer you to Newegg. I HATE ITUNES.Itunes has to be one of the worst programs I've ever used. It is just poor programming. It lags my dual core with 4 gigs ram. That's ridiculous for a music player. Also you can no longer output video with regular cable. Worthless! Go with any other brand if you have a choice. 2 out of 9 people found this review helpful. Did you? First Ipod Reviewed By: Frozen072 on 11/15/2007 Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year Pros: * More storage then I'll ever use with just music and videos * Amazing battery life * Lots of features * Glass Screen * Front is way more scratch resistant Cons: * Must use Itunes (ATM) * Non-Hackable (ATM) * Back gets scratches way to easy * Must use new TV-out Cable * No more white * No Linux (ATM) Other Thoughts: Most of the cons will be fixed at a later date. I was looking forward to hacking my Classic but it's not there yet. Overall I would recommend this is you have more media then the Ipod touch allows or budget. 3 out of 5 people found this review helpful. Did you? Reviewed By: Someone Random on 11/8/2007 Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week Pros: Tons of storage, great sound/video/picture quality, sleek and cool looking, user-friendly interface. Cons: This is a great MP3 player, but the problem is it's compatibility. It can't really play anything other than MP3 or AAC, so get used to having to convert lots of your music if you're someone who has WMA and all the other types. In terms of video, it has great video quality and such, but again the compatibility gets uncovered. It can only play videos that have a quicktime movie codec. So again, get used to converting pretty much every movie you have on your computer to quicktime, and then converting a 2nd time to the iPod format through iTunes. Other Thoughts: All-in-all, this product is a great player with a great interface and battery life, but it scams you into doing everything "Apple". It pretty much can't play anything except formats that have Apple on the owner tag, so get used to converting if you've owned another mp3 player before it that had a good spread of file format playability. One other thing, unless you search the net for a 3rd party software, you're forced to interface your iPod with iTunes, yet again, the Apple scam continues. 3 out of 10 people found this review helpful.
