I didn't even think of the tip clogging with dirt- which I'm sure it will. I had a ridiculous time just trying to fill the stupid things up- water just kept splashing back up and out. The design is just silly. To add insult to injury, I didn't even get a red one which is what I was really looking forward to! Just turquoise, blue with orange, blue and orange. Yet another thing on TV that doesn't work. I'm done being a sucker- this is the LAST thing I ever order this way!

It didnt work very well for me. My hanging plant died - must have been the root rot as mentioned in other comments. Tip does clog if not careful, and there's no way it would water the plant for up to 2 weeks, it emptied quickly and the flowers died.

to keep the tips from clogging with soil, I've used a strip of weed fabric that I placed over the tip when placing it into the soil. the weed fabric does great, cheesecloth would probably work as well

be careful of this product causing root rot in plants that don't appreciate moist soil.

Does the tip get clogged with dirt?
