Row 1: With white. Leaving a long tail, at least 8", Ch. 4, join with sl st into first st. Row 2: Ch. 1, work 8 sc into center ring and around tail, do not join Pull tail tightly, closing the hole in the ring. Mark beginning of row (piece of contrasting yarn works fine). From this point on, you will be working in the round. Row 3: *1 sc in first st, 2 sc in next st*, repeat from * around (12 st). Row 4: *1 sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st*, repeat from * around (18 st). Rows 5-11: 1 sc in each sc around. Row 12: 1 sc in each sc around, end and cut yarn at least 12" long to sew banana onto peel. Add safety eyes or embroider face at this point. Attach tapestry or darning needle to white tail just cut. Holding banana in place inside peel, sew neatly 2/3 of the way around. Stuff firmly with stuffing in banana and peel. Finish sewing banana closed. Tie off. Weave in end. If you find any errors in this pattern, please let me know.
