Reviewed By: on 12/4/2007 Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month Pros: The buttons are lined up nicely. If you tire of the WASD placement, and for some games, the number rows and even the function key, the alt key, the ctrl key, and even the shift key, then remapping them to the Nostromo might be for you. This controller helps me greatly in MMORPGs where I need quick access to spells and actions that would take a few seconds longer with the number rows or with clicking the icon with your mouse. Buttons are well-placed. Cons: 1. Buttons are really stiff. May need some breaking in. 2. Thumb/space button is too far and requires a repositioning of my hand. It takes a little getting used to, but not a bad con-just something to note. Also the button could use braces on the sides, as I find the button to be flimsy and have no support if I were to press it on the corners. A keyboard's ENTER key, SPACE BAR, and SHIFT key all have little braces underneath to keep the button level when pressed, why can't this button have it? 3. D-Pad is too far away. Sometimes I don't even use the D-pad because I would have to take my fingers off of the keys to move my character. It takes a little get used to as well, as I've been adjusting my left hand back and forth between using the D-pad, the space button, and the keys. 4. The orange buttong is hard to press, and is almost useless unless you need to change states. Save that function for this button. Other Thoughts: I like the key layout, but even with the pad set to receive a medium sized hand, it takes a lot of shifting around to get to all the keys, d-pad, and space key. Orange key is hard to press and oddly placed. I stopped using it altogether. Best feature about this is the layout of the keys, which makes game commands easier to perform. I have found no use for the scroll wheel. Maybe I'll do shift states with it and see if that works. Overall, good product, and for $26 (17+shipping+tax) its a good investment. Cons: The thumb button (round orange one) feels a little too hard to push. Makes pressing it quickly and repeatedly difficult. Did you find this review helpful?
