Truly one of the top Parisian fashion houses, Chanel made a name for itself through fine craftmanship and luxury goods. In 1955, Chanel introduced the quilted bag with shoulder strap and the fashion world has never been the same since. Due to such instant popularity, Chanel had trouble filling orders of the new bag referred to as Chanel 2.55. The Luxury Line, marketed in 2006, is one of the most anticipated and sought after bags this year. Much like the other lines of designer handbags, Chanel makes sure that Hollywood stars and popular celebrities carry their bags as a form of free marketing and exposure that truly is priceless. Lots of young women aspire to be like Paris Hilton or Britney Spears and if Chanel can get a star like that to wear their handbags or carry their purses, it's a huge advantage. We did have some trouble locating places online when we went to purchase Chanel handbags (didn't seem to run across that issue with other top purse/bag companies like Gucci or Coach). One online store we did find with a few Chanel bags was at http://www.sabinesboutique.com/Chanel.html. Their selection included the Chanel Handbags (Red) Classic Quilted Lambskin w/ Chain Strap ($1245), the Chanel Handbags (Beige/Navy Blue) Small Classic Quilted Lambskin w/ Chain Strap ($1345), the Chanel Handbags (Beige or Taupe) Quilted Leather Tote w/ Logo Hardware ($999), the Chanel Handbags (Pink) Small Patent Leather Tote w/Large CC Logo ($999), Chanel Handbags (Black) Lambskin Leather w/ Chain Strap ($1145) and the Chanel Handbags (Black) Caviar Leather w/ Large Logo CC's ($1025). They carry discounted luxury designer accessories and only have a few available. Jadeboutique.com is another site offering the Chanel Beige Quilted Cambon Multipocket Handbag Purse ($3175), the Chanel Tweed Handbag Purse Shoulder Bag ($1199), and the Chanel Tweed Camellia Leather Runway Shoulder Messenger Bag Purse ($1199). You can always go to the Chanel.com website and search for the local Chanel store in your area. It appears they make buying a handbag/purse difficult enough, perhaps that is why the demand remains high since they are hard to get your hands on. We found a few other online sites that carry Chanel products and they were sold out of the purses when we visited them with no mention of when they would get new inventory in. See less »
