Back to Top Features at a Glance: Design Year: 1952 -Rods of polished chrome or durable bonded white rislan finish -Scratch, chip, and chemical resistant -Chrome chair features matching chrome connections -White frame has stainless steel connections -Glides included -The Knoll logo is stamped into the base of the chair -Upholstery available in over 80 fabric options -Cover is stretched over wire frame and attached with hooks Awards -Honorable Mention, Annual Design Awards, ID Magazine 2006 Care & Maintenance -For the polished chrome rods, Knoll recommends cleaning with Windex or an automotive chrome cleaner such as Semi-Chrome twice a month -Apply a coat of hard paste wax to the rods to protect against moisture -For the stainless steel connections, Knoll recommends using Windex, Fantastik, or other non-abrasive household cleaners. Italian-born, Bertoia utilized his superior skills as a sculptor to bend and shape industrial wire rods into chairs that would become pinnacles of twentieth century furniture design. For small scratches, rub with Comet, Ajax, or other mild abrasives in the direction of the grain.
