To my surprise, this crib is not yet on the recall list, but it is defective. I am in touch with the manufacturer. I have to email them a picture of the crib before they will replace the it. They say they will get back with me on Monday. At first, it seemed somewhat sturdy. It was the first crib I ever owned. I didn't know what to expect. Over a short period of time, the crib seemed very wobbly. I thought I could deal with that. Maybe they all do that, but it got to the point that I thought it was going to break or fall apart everytime I changed the sheet or leaned over to pick up my baby, although I tried not to put any pressure on it whatsoever. I was horrified to think that it might break with my daughter in it. It also had large rotten knots in the wood, the biggest of which started splintering. What did it in for me, though, was the other day, while I was changing the sheet, I realized that one of the slats had actually snapped in half! I had to put a pillow in between the bed and the wall so that my daughter wouldn't get hurt, but which slat is going to break next? This bed was suppose to convert and last until my child is around 6 years old.. and hopefully be used for my next child. My child is 20 months old. We're a one income family. I can't be out the money for a new bed already! Hopefully the manufacturer will replace it. I'm almost positive they will, but I need need need one now! It's too bad. It's such a beautiful crib.
