Morning, Spider Web On Pearls of Dew, Sun Ray Play. The Sun Ray Shawl is a top-down, triangular shawl in 2 mirror image sections. The Sun Ray motif is a modified Ivy pattern from Barbara Walkers Charted Knitting Designs, a Third Treasury of Knitting patterns p.154. Ivy pattern has a 10 row repeat and Sun Ray pattern has a 20 row repeat all even number rows (wrong side return rows) are purled. The basic structure of the shawl is very simple. On the same row, the single decrease stitch is always in the same direction on one side (right) and mirror image on the other side (left). Therefore, it is a good beginners shawl. Experience Level: Easy Size: 76 inches wide at widest point by 36 inches long at longest point after blocking. Materials: 6 balls of elann.com Peruvian Highland Wool. Pair of 6mm (US10) straight needles and 40 inch circular needle in same size. Slip markers. Crochet hook size 6mm (US J). Gauge: 14 sts and 20 rows per 4 inches after blocking.
