this one seems like it would be the lightest

this is your first time so you gonna need less weight when you gain more resistance then you can buy another bigger

While I havn't personally tried any of these, this one looks most comfortable for light day use, and it still has a good sized resevoir.

You have to trust Jansport.

This one looks tidy and price is excellent.

The point of the pack is to not have bottles...the water goes in "bladders" inside the packs.

the price is right, and it looks streamlined. i just can't figure out where you put your H2O bottles...?

My choice is based purely on looks since I'm not a hydration pack expert.

Looks less bulky than the others, which is a big bonus if you just need it for light day hikes.
