See more » Mike has coordinated the counseling and education efforts of the Career Center since August 2000 and was appointed Interim Executive Director in March 2006. He graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in biology and from The University of Akron with an MA in psychology and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology. Mike is a licensed psychologist in the State of Maryland. After serving one year with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Worcester, MA, Mike worked at several universities in a variety of teaching and student affairs roles. He enjoys the university setting, especially combining counseling, administration, research, and teaching. Arlene Hill - Associate Director, Employer and Alumni Relations 202.687.7121, amh84@georgetown.edu Arlene joined the Career Center staff in October 2004, after most recently serving as Associate Director at the Career Development Center and Arts & Sciences Career Services office at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Prior to her six years in career services at several universities, Arlene was a singer and musical theater performer in Chicago, where she also worked in financial services as a project manager. She has a MA in College Student Personnel with a focus in Adult Learning and Development and a BA in English and History. Julie Kasten - Interim Associate Director, Career Education and Counseling 202.687.3576, jlh48@georgetown.edu Julie joined the Career Center staff as a Career Consultant during the summer of 2002. She earned a master's degree in Counselor Education at Virginia Tech's Northern Virginia Center, and a bachelor's degree in Communication at James Madison University. Prior to pursuing her master's degree, Julie worked in the marketing and communications fields for five years, first for a non-profit association and later for an international management consulting firm. Before coming to Georgetown, Julie counseled students in the Career Services office at George Mason University, and earned certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors. Claire Jacobson - Manager of Recruiting Programs 202.687.3578, cej8@georgetown.edu Claire is the Manager of Recruiting Programs at the Career Education Center. She holds an MA in English from Georgetown University and a B.A. in English from Northwestern University. Claire has been with the Career Education Center since January 2005. Prior to coming to Georgetown she worked in PR at an architecture firm in Chicago. Amy Ites - Manager of Public Service & Nonprofit Opportunities 202.687.7394, ami22@georgetown.edu Amy is responsible for the Careers Serving Others Program, the Government and Nonprofit Career Expo, and advising students and alums interested in government, arts, international development and nonprofit career opportunities. Prior to joining the Career Education Center in June 2003, Amy worked in higher education for 4+ years and received her Master's degree in College Student Personnel. Amy also brings two years of non-profit human resources experience from her time at Rockefeller University in New York City. Liz Livingston - Career Consultant 202.687.3646, eal7@georgetown.edu Liz Livingston became a Career Consultant with the Career Center in October 2003. Liz, who interned at Georgetown while working towards a master's degree in Counseling and a post-master's certificate in Career Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, is excited to be working with Georgetown's students once again. After her 2001 graduation from Johns Hopkins, Liz worked as a Career Counselor and a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor at a social service agency for two years. Liz holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Dickinson College and she is certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors.
