This type of tub is also popular because of it is affordable and space-savvy. Recessed shower tubs also come in different shapes, sizes and materials. Whirlpool. This is one of the most popular types of shower tubs. These are comprised of electric pumps, pipes and water jets. What makes a whirlpool different from other tubs or spas is that water is drained and filled at every use but the speed of water can be similar to hot tubs and spas. Whirlpool shower tubs are usually made of acrylic, cast iron and fiberglass. There are two available models of whirlpool shower tubs namely Aclove and Drop-in. Aclove whirlpools can fit in an alcove, easy to install, affordable and come in all standard sizes.
