I spent a lot of time at my grandparent's house as a kid. I went to pre-school just up the street and my grandfather would meet me when it let out and walk me back to their house. They always kept some candy, usually Orange Slices or Circus Peanuts. As soon as I'd get in the door, I'd hurry to get a couple pieces of candy. Since they didn't eat a lot of the candy, it tended to be hard and chewy from being old. But I remember always thinking that if we were going to their house I could get another Circus Peanut or Orange slice, no matter how stale. To this day, when I buy a bag of Circus Peanuts, I'll leave them sit out open for a couple of days so that they will get stale and remind of those days at my grandparents house. ~ Jim from Indiana
