Ray Anderson is widely recognized as one of the world's most progressive industrialists having successfully shifted the focus of his carpet business, Interface Inc., towards environmental sustainability. Mr Anderson received the inaugural Millennium Award from Global Green, presented by Mikhail Gorbachev in 1996. He was appointed to Chairman of the President's Council on Sustainable Development in 1997 and was awarded the George and Cynthia Mitchell International Prize for Sustainable Development in 2001. Ray appeared in the film "The Corporation" (2003). Ray Anderson describes when and how he became aware of the harm his and other industries were doing to the planet. He radically reoriented his company towards environmental sustainability with the goal of becoming a zero emission, fully sustainable enterprise. He likens this journey to a mountain climbing experience and points out that there many faces – all of which are to be scaled if his goal is to be achieved. Recorded in May 2005
